I will put their names on the bottom so don't lie! This is a must for any FAQ, and if you haven’t noticed by now I’ll spell it out for you: COPYRIGHT (C) NOTICE!!!!!!!! COPYRIGHT (C) NOTICE!!!!!!!! I just HATE people who copy/plagiarize other people’s work and call it their own. What is plagiarism you ask? It’s the technical word for the stealing of other people’s work. It’s also ILLEGAL in every state and country. Patchwork plagiarism is also illegal. This means that someone copies someone else’s work, changes a few words and/or paragraphs, and claims that it is an original work. In other words: DON’T DO IT without my permission!!!!!! Over time, I've gotten tired of all these sites asking to use my FAQ's. People ask, "I read all of your FAQ's. Can I use them on your site?" First off, I doubt anyone would really read through ALL of my FAQ's. They probably just looked at my contributor page and thought they'd get an already written FAQ, without doing any work. Then, I'd have to go and update all of my FAQ's. So therefore, my FAQ's will ONLY be displayed on sites of my choosing. The sites that already have permission to use my FAQ's may keep on using them, but from now on, my newest FAQ's will belong to GameFAQs ONLY, and my own site. Other sites will be sites with special privileges, and will only get a FAQ of mine if I contact them personally. The Legends series is my favorite, all-time series. It's the series that made me realize just how much a good story and good gameplay can really boost a game. Legends 2, indeed, is the best of the games as far as story goes. However, I'm not here to discuss the story. Whenever I write a fully-blown guide, I make it spoiler-free. The only spoilers in this walkthrough will be in the theory section, at the very end of the FAQ. But since there are no spoilers in the walkthrough, this document qualifies as a "spoiler-free walkthrough." Now, this is the last game in the series, but it shouldn't be. WE NEED A SEQUEL! Legends 2 didn't do so well when it first came out. But since then, I've seen it grow in popularity. The series has stopped and the Battle Network games were made in its place. Since the Battle Network games have been so popular, the Legends team hasn't had a chance to make more Legends games. All I'm asking is to give the Legends games another chance. WE NEED AN EXPLANATION TO ALL THE UNANSWERED QUESTIONS THAT LEGENDS 2 GIVES US! Page width of this document: This FAQ is best viewed in MS Word, Courier New, size 10 font, with 1 inch margins around the document. Apparently, when I change the margins in Word to 1 inch all around, it resets the left and right margins to .92 inches. Just to let you know. Also, I do NOT like dumb questions. Please do NOT ask me about anything that is already covered in the FAQ. In some of my FAQ's, I included a FAQ section for the most Frequently Asked Questions. Please look there, and look at the content of the main FAQ, and if you still don't understand, ask the message board. Personally, I do NOT like questions, period. Also, do NOT ask me anything about sequels, other games in a series, or anything within those lines. If you HAVE to ask me a question, keep it within the game I made a FAQ for. Praise is also accepted, but don't ask for a response, because I won't give you one. Honestly, I get enough junk mail day after day, and I am sick of it. I check my e-mail every day, but I would rather keep my inbox as small as possible. Also, don't try to sell my anything, as your e-mail will be deleted the moment I see it. Thank you, and good day. ***************************************************************************** *******************************Version History******************************* ***************************************************************************** Version 1.0: The entire walkthrough was made. Remember, there are no spoilers in the walkthrough, or I tried to limit the number of spoilers to a minimum. *****************************1a) Before we start***************************** Ok, right when you pop in the MegaMan Legends 2 disc, you'll notice that there's an introduction to the game from where we left off in MegaMan Legends 1. I'll put some spoilers in here, because it's just an opening intro before you even start to play the game. To put it in a few short sentences, a year has passed. Verner Von Blucher, an old friend of Barrel Casket, has successfully built a ship that will allow him to enter the Forbidden Island. He holds a press conference, and then, Matilda shows up. Matilda is Roll's mom who disappeared ten years ago on this very same island - Forbidden Island, and left Roll to be raised by Barrel Casket. Matilda leaves everyone with some cryptic words, and jumps out the window. The scene switches to MegaMan and Roll, where Roll has been feeling down. She's totally out of it because she believes that finding the Mother Load, which Von Blucher believes is on Forbidden Island, will lead to Roll finding her parents. (The Mother Load is a legendary treasure that has been rumored to exist, but has never been found.) After watching the press conference and all its chaos, MegaMan convinces Roll that they should go see what's been happening at Forbidden Island, and whether or not the strange woman was really Roll's mom. ***************************1b) Fire in the Flutter!************************** After starting the game, we have a talk sequence with Roll and MegaMan. Refer to part A of the Story Explanations for some key points of this conversation. Anyways, Data accidentally set the Flutter on fire! Oh, well, I guess MegaMan needs to put it out. Roll gives you a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. It has unlimited amounts of water, so don't feel the need to conserve. To start out, use the R2 button to target the flames in front of you. Push the Triangle button to spray (although I think the square button will work, too). Keep your distance, so you don't get hurt. Your target is the door on the left, but make sure to get all the flames in the hallway. Once you make it to the living room, hold triangle down and spray in front of you. If you're not holding R2 down, you can push L1 to turn while spraying. Your goal here is also to put out all the flames. Also, there's a door diagonally across from where you came in. Spray it from the side, because when you put it out, it explodes straight, and you'd get hurt if you were in front. Your target is the kitchen, which is the door with the basket design on it. Once inside the kitchen, you see Data, and he asks for your help. There's two parts to extinguishing the kitchen, both Data and the flames. Start out spraying the flames as normal. The flames will also drop some little flames that can hurt Data. If he screams "IT'S HOT!!!" use R2 to target him and spray him until he stops running like mad. If you don't, he could jump at you, causing damage. Keep a steady balance between the flames and Data and you'll have put out all the flames. Once you put out all the flames, you'll get a cut-scene involving the Sulphur-Bottom, Matlida, and Forbidden Island. You'll then end up at Yosyonke to restock supplies and regroup. You next target: make a dropship! *********************1c) Calbania Island and Yosyonke Town******************* Once you land on Calinca Island, look for a familiar bouncing monkey and save your game. Recharge your energy if needed. Then, look for a big gate behind the Flutter. You're now in the town. The first thing you'll notice is the sign pointing to the platform above. Go up there and into the first door you come to, which is a Junk Shop. Inside ou'll get a cut-scene. There's an important point here, noted in the Story Explanations section, part B. Anyways, Roll runs off back to the docks. Instead of following her, there's some items in town that you'll want. First, run behind the Junk Shop and jump up on the platform, which leads to a back door. Go in the brown door and talk to the Junk Store man. Say yes to both of the questions to get the Reaverbot Claw. Also, a fun thing to notice is the poster in the other room. It looks like the Gesselschaft, a ship in the first game. Leave the Junk Shop and go around the buildings on the left side. There's a bar on your right, with an important point in the Story Explanations (part B). There's nothing much of importance inside otherwise, except for a slight relation to the original MegaMan series on the TV (it's a little cartoon). Outside the bar you'll notice a yellow can on the ground. If you line it up right, you can kick it into the trash for 200 Zenny. Search the trash bin for a Mechanic Notes 1. Turn around so your back is to the trash bin. Go right around the building. There's nothing important inside except for some people that give you background information on Von Blucher. With your back to the gate, you'll see a lady in black. She gives you a story if you say No to her. It's actually important to the story, but you won't realize why unless you've played the game through one or twice before. I put the reason why in Story Explanations (part C). Past the lady in black is a brown house on the left. Go inside and search the middle dresser for a Broken Vacuum. Behind the house is a trash bin that holds 1,000 Zenny. (If you want, kick the can from the other garbage bin to this bin to receive 1,000 Zenny as well.) There are a few other buildings nearby, but nothing important. Next to the Junk Store is a General Store, though you can't buy anything. A fun thing to look at inside, though, is the picture of Zero in his black armor. Anyways, there's nothing else of major importance. Go back to the area with the Flutter and go to the left side of the building on the left. Talk to Roll on the platform and say the first option to go in. Roll and MegaMan will talk, and a kid will tell you that Joe is in the ruins outside the city. Leave the room and talk to Data to save. Also, if you kicked the cans into garbage bins like I said you should have 2,000+ Zenny. Go into the Flutter and into the cockpit. Talk to Roll and select the option "Talk to Roll." She'll ask if you want to repair the Flutter. Select yes if you have 2,000 Zenny. The repairs will get started and you'll have to wait a while. Also, there's some items inside the Flutter. In MegaMan's room is a green dresser with 1,000 Zenny. In Barrel's room is a dresser with a Flutter model and 1,000 Zenny. In the dresser next to it there's a letter from Matilda talking about how she and Banner (her husband) are going to Forbidden Island. Check the bed for and easy 5,000 Zenny. The books in the bookshelf give some history. It's from the previous game, it has info about Forbidden Island when Barrel and Von Blucher explored it 30 years ago, and when Barrel found MegaMan 15 years ago. I put some info in the Stories Explanations (part D). Go down to the second floor. There's nothing here, so go down to the third floor. On the left is the Engine Room. Search the panel to the right of the engine to find 2,000 Zenny. Leave the engine room. Straight ahead is another room, the cargo room. Go inside, and the go into the next room which is the development room. Search the table that's straight ahead for a Rapid Fire. Go ahead and equip it right away. (The menu is accessed with Select, not Start for some reason...) Leave the Flutter. From the Flutter, go towards the man and past the gate that's behind him. Now it's time for some actual combat! Head left in the new area and cross the bridge. A few seconds later, some Reaverbots should pop out of the ground! Kill them if you want. Just follow the track until you reach the mine. Go inside the Calinca Mines. Follow Roll to the door, and go east into the next room. Instead of following Roll east, go north through the door. Kill the Zakobons here, and go through the door in this room. Head east, killing more Zakobons, and go through the next door. Keep following the path until you reach a treasure chest containing a Broken Model Gun. Now go back to the room with Roll. You'll get a small scene and automatically proceed to the second floor. From here, go straight and into this room, ignoring the side paths. Kill the Zakobon, and open both treasures. One has 300 Zenny, the other has 100 Zenny. Go outside the room. Go south at the fork and kill the reaver here. Continue along, killing another reaver and go west at the fork. Inside is a treasure chest with 500 Zenny. Go back through the door and go north. Kill some more reavers and keep going north. At the next fork, go west. Inside is a room with a treasure chest that contains some Old Hoverjets. Some more Zakobons will then drop from the ceiling. Kill them and leave. Go south from here and then go west. Go through the door and use the elevator. Go into the next room and get a cut-scene with Joe. Go into the room after this. It's boss fight time! ***************************************************************************** * Big Red Reaverbot * ***************************************************************************** * This guy is very simple. He's good practice for the circle and shoot * * tactic. Simply put, keep MegaMan moving left or right and move him * * around to the boss's backside while shooting at the same time. Hitting * * him in his tail thingy causes the most damage. For fun, have him smash * * all the pillars in the room. * ***************************************************************************** After you beat the big guy, go back into the previous room. There's another cut-scene and then you need to take the refractor. After that, you'll be back in Yosyonke. When the cut-scene is over, go back to the Flutter. You might also want to buy some things from the Junk Shop, since you got some Zenny at the ruins. I bought a Rollerboard, the Normal Armor, two Bionic Parts, an Energy Canteen, a Power Raiser, and a Turbo Charger. You might or might not have enough to buy all these, but focus on everything mentioned except maybe the Turbo Charger. Another trip through the mines should give you plenty of Zenny. Go back to the Flutter and talk to Roll in the cockpit. MegaMan and Roll will talk to each other for a bit, and the Roll asks MegaMan if he's ready. Say "wait" and talk to Roll a second time. Pick Development Room from the list and make some Jet Skates from the Rollerboard and Old Hoverjets. Now, we must prepare for a trip to Forbidden Island. You might want to go back to the mines and get some Zenny to buy a few more things from the Junk Shop. Here's a quick checklist of what you want: 2 Bionic Parts (MegaMan should have 7 life bars) 1 Energy Canteen [Junk Shop] 1 Jet Skates (Rollerboard [Junk Shop] + Old Hoverjets [Mine]) 1 Normal Armor [Junk Shop] 1 Power Raiser [Junk Shop] 1 Rapid Fire [Flutter Development Room] Repairs started on the Flutter [Talk to Roll] Things you want, but don't need right now: All 10 of the Bionic parts [Junk Shop] 6+ Energy Canteen Packs (buy the Extra Pack item) [Junk Shop] 1 Turbo Charger [Junk Shop] 1 Range Booster [Junk Shop] 1 Broken Vaccum [Inside a house] 1 Broken Model Gun [Mines] 1 Mechanic Notes 1 (AKA Radar Notes, if you show it to Roll) 1 Reaverbot Claw [Junk Shop back door] 1 Medicine Bottle [Junk Shop] 1 Light Chip [Junk Shop] *****************************1d) Forbidden Island**************************** Buster part combinations that should work the best: 1) Power Raiser + Rapid Fire 2) Power Raiser + Range Booster When you're ready, talk to Data, recharge your energy and save. Talk to Roll and select Move. Pilot the Flutter to the west into the unknown area, and land at the red marker. You'll get a cut-scene and when it's over, you'll be inside Forbidden Island! From here, go straight and watch out for the reavers that pop out of the snow. Eventually, you'll come to a clearing. Much to your surprise, there are humans in those round objects! There's nothing much to do with them now, so keep going, and you'll notice a dropship with a person inside! Who is it? I'll leave that for the Story Explanations (part E). On the next screen, you'll come across these weird Reaverbots that grow and chase you down when you shoot them! Just circle and shoot, and you'll do fine. Up ahead is a clearing and you'll get sort of a mini-boss fight. This wolf thingy is easy to kill. Just hold R2, Up, Square, and either Left or Right. You should be able to dodge all of his attacks and be able to shoot him as much as you want. Once he's done, proceed north to the next screen. Here, there are some reavers that pop out of the ground, and you can kill as many as you want. Up north, there's a clearing with some pillars. Roll tells you to watch out because of some Reaverbots. Approach the snow mound nearest to you and kill the elephant reaver. Do this two more time and a barrier will disappear, leaving your path clear. Head southeast of the clearing and into the narrow path. You'll have to time your movements here. The mammoth Reaverbots will run straight along the path, so find a niche in the side of the path whenever the way is clear. Head north at the end to go to the next screen. You'll notice that Data came along (how does he do it?). Recharge you energy and save! There's a boss fight up next, and it's not easy. Touch, the refractor in the middle, and a boss fight ensues. ***************************************************************************** * Giant Mammoth * ***************************************************************************** * The guy is quite large, and can take up the entire screen if you get * * close. The main problem with this guy is his large life bar, which is * * exceptionally hard if you're playing the game through a second time on * * Very Hard Mode. To start out, you'll want to find a pillar and put it * * between you and the mammoth. He'll slowly walk toward you, and every few * * seconds he'll shoot ice chunks at you, one at a time. Stay behind the * * pillar until he gets close. Eventually, he'll smash it by walking into * * it. Find another pillar and keep shooting. If you ever see him jolt, * * like he's hurt, get ready for one of his strongest attacks. He'll jump * * up and cause an earthquake. Jump after he lands to avoid this attack. * * The shockwaves can really hurt. After you do enough damage, you'll blow * * off part of his nose. He'll then lie down and shoot a giant laser from * * his... butt. Just circle and jump to the side to avoid it. * * * * In the next phase, he shoots several chunks of ice in a spray fire. * * Just stay behind a pillar to avoid it. Keep using the pillars and keep * * dodging his earthquake attacks and you'll eventually blow off another * * part of his nose. At this point, he gets mad, tries to ram you, and * * shoots those butt lasers like crazy. Just circle and shoot and jump to * * avoid the lasers and you should finish him off in no time. * ***************************************************************************** After beating the mammoth, you'll get a very long cut-scene. Important points here are mentioned in the Story Explantations (part E). ***************1e) The Sulphur-Bottom and a Return to Yosyonke*************** You are now transported to the Sulphur-Bottom. Leave the room that you are in and go across the hall to the elevator (it's the red door shown on the map, not the door that is straight to the north). Go to the southeast room and search the plant here. You'll pick up 500 Zenny. Go back out and through the elevator you came through earlier. NOW go through the door to the north. You'll get in a short talk scene. Agree to help, and then talk to Von Blucher and Gramps for some background info. (Check Story Explanations for a few key points, part F.) Also, check the plant for 2,000 Zenny. Leave the way you came, and you'll speak with Roll for a second. She overheard your talk, and then said she'll go to the Flutter. Go straight south to the elevator. You're now in the docks. In the docks, go all the way around until you see Data. Search the crates in the corner for 1,800 Zenny. Go back to the elevator, and turn so you're facing the elevator. Head right and you'll notice a single crate. Search it for a Heavy Duty Gear. Turn so you're facing the west wall and follow the path until you see three crates stacked together. (There's actually four. but it's hidden.) Search them for 1,000 Zenny. Keep going until you see a door labeled "Junk." Go inside, and do some shopping. Buy a Bottle Rocket and a Long Barrel. Buy as many buster parts as you can, as well. I was able to buy the Buster Unit, Blaster Unit, and Autofire Unit. Now go back into the docks. From the docks, go back to where Data was and go into the Flutter. Talk to Roll, and select the option, "Talk to Roll." Mention "Repairs, and she should say that the living room is done. Now go back out the door and down the ladder. Take a left in the hallway and go through the blue-green door. Search the blue-green chest for a Broken Motor. Now go back to Roll and go into the Development Room. Have Roll make a Vacuum Arm from the Broken Vacuum and Broken Motor. Also, combine the Broken Model Gun with the Long Barrel for a Machine Gun Arm. There's one last item to get. Combine the Bottle Rocket with the Radar Notes (Mechanic Notes 1) for a Homing Missile. Now first try to upgrade the Vacuum Arm as much as you can. (You probably don't have much money, so you really can't do much to it.) Select it, since you don't have any sort of special weapon equipped. Then, exit out, talk to Roll again, and select Move. Go back to Yosyonke. There's some unfinished business to be done here. I saved this part until now, since you've probably gotten better at fighting. Go into town, and keep going straight, past the statue, into the church graveyard. Go inside the church. Talk to Data in the corner and save. Then, talk to the girl and take a digger's test. ***Digger's Test: A Class License*** To start out, move forward and go through the door. The timer starts here. Next, shoot the golden reavers here. If you rapidly push up on the D-Pad, you'll shoot faster than normal, so you can kill these guys pretty quickly. Also, when the snake drops down, target him first and kill him quickly. If he hits you, you'll be affected with the Energy Drain status. It cuts down the range of your buster to about a foot in front of MegaMan, and if you have a special weapon equipped (which you don't), it drains the amount of energy it has. Needless to say, it's BAD. After killing these reavers, go around the corner. Watch out for the reaver here. Stand far away, and shoot when he drops his guard. For an easy win, pick him up (with the Triangle button), throw him away from the door, and shoot him in the back until he dies. Go through the door. In this room, move right and shoot the snakes at the same time. (Use the rapid fire trick mentioned before.) It's an easy victory here, so go through the door to the east. In this room, shoot and jump up to the platform at the same time. Shoot at the reaver here, and get close enough to pick him up (with Triangle). Take him down the hallway and throw him at the reaver at the end to kill them both. You might get hit by the energy drain attack they use. This isn't a big worry. Go through the door. Immediately, head left. Head into the far corner on the left, and hold Triangle down. Run into one of the gold reavers to pick him up. Throw him anywhere except at the other gold reaver. He'll be flipped over. Pick up the other gold reaver and do the same thing. Now, shoot at the flying reavers to kill all of them. (They make BIG explosions, so shoot from a distance.) Then, pick up a gold reaver and throw him at the other to kill them both. Go through the door to the west. The next room is simple. Kill the snakes, and then move around, so you can see the purple orb. Use the rapid fire trick to kill it easily. Keep hitting R2 so you can target the suicide bombs it shoots out. Keep shooting at the purple orb and go through the door when it dies (and kill the bombs, too). Ok, this is the last room. A Shurakurusu will attack you. The easiest way to kill him is to target him a circle and shoot. When he charges straight at you, jump to avoid his attack. Then, just pound him with Buster shots until he dies. (He'll probably charge you more than once. Use the same tactics as before.) When he dies, go through the green door and you've completed the test! ***End Digger's Test*** Now it's up to you if you want to go for the S Class License. Come back here for reference if you don't want to do it now. Otherwise, go ahead and take the test. What do you get for taking the tests? First, the Reaverbots all throughout the game have more life, but drop more Zenny, so you'll be richer than if you didn't. Second, you'll have access to certain sub-ruins in the game, which are locked if you don't have the Licenses. That means more items and more weapons, as well as more Zenny. ***Digger's Test: S-Class License*** Now this is hard, but I have a sure-fire way to complete the test. It primarily involves using the Lifter, so make sure you're comfortable using it. At the start, shoot the golden reaver until he flips over. Change targets until you target the flying reavers. Shoot two of them down (using the rapid fire trick) and hold down Triangle. The other golden reaver should be moving toward you, so run into him to pick him up. Toss him at the other golden reaver to kill them both. (If one didn't die, shoot him until he DOES die.) Next, take the corner sharply, holding down Triangle at the same time. You'll pick up a reaver. Turn right and quickly toss him at the other reaver, killing them both. Step back and shoot the flying reavers. Go straight and through the door. Immediately head right and start shooting the snakes. Try to kill them, while pushing R2 to target the floating bombs coming toward you. Kill all the snakes, and then focus on the purple orb. Kill him like you did in the first license test. Go east through the door. Now, you'll take a little damage here, but not much. Target the reaver on the platform and jump around him to the right. You'll probably land right on him and take damage, but at the same time you'll get the flying reaver above him to move toward you. The flying reaver will start its detonation right away, so move back toward where you can in and he'll detonate safely. Then, WITHOUT targeting the shield bot, jump to its side and shoot at the same time. When you land, quickly hold down Triangle and pick up the reaver (you might take some damage). Then keep going and poke your nose around the corner. Toss the reaver at a golden reaver, making sure not to throw him into the wall instead. Toss one of the golden reavers at the other one, which will at least kill one of them. Shoot the other one until he dies. Shoot the flying reavers, and proceed through the door. Now, this is the hardest room in the test. Start out moving to the right, and shoot at the purple orb in front of you. DO NOT USE R2!!! Manually aim, because if you lock on, you'll have some trouble. Ignore the bombs, and when they get close, jump OVER the orb you were shooting at. Keep shooting the orb, jumping over it when the bombs get close. DO NOT LOCK ON!!! When this orb dies, kill the one that is counter-clockwise from it. Keep ignoring the bombs as much as you can, because the orb makes should have stopped making bombs at this point. Shoot manually, and this time, walk behind the orb since there's enough space for you to fit. Kill the orb following this pattern, and then start shooting the bombs. When all of the bombs are gone, focus on the last orb like normal (where you actually use R2). Kill the orb, and go through the door. Kill all of the flying enemies without getting close to the shield bots. If you woke one of the shield bots up, pick him up first, and throw him at the other shield bot. Otherwise, come at a shield bot from along the wall and throw him at the other shield bot, killing them both. Walk through the door. Now, you have TWO Shurakurusus. Follow the same strategy as before: circle and shoot, and jump out of the way of his charge, and focus on one at a time. Also, it might help to manually aim until you kill one of them, then kill the other like normal. Next, go through the green door. You've passed the license test! ***End Digger's Test*** While you're here, there's one more item to pick up from the General Store. It has no effect on the game, but it's fun to buy. Hey, it only costs 1,500 Zenny! Kick both cans (there are two now) into the garbage cans a couple times and you'll have enough. The go to the General Store (next to the Junk Store), and buy.... Toilet Cleaner! It's just a little decoration for the Flutter. Nothing special. But if you're a completionist, go ahead and buy it. Go back to the Flutter and Talk to Roll. Select Move and go south of the Sulphur-Bottom. Land at the red marker. ******************1f) Manda Island: Pokte Village and Ruins****************** Best Buster Part Combinations: 1) Buster Unit + Power Raiser 2) Buster Unit + Rapid Fire Ah, Manda Island. You'll probably come back to this place many times. Simply because, it's the best place to make money! Yup, at this early point in the game, you've got the best place in the game to make money. But there's a little trick to it, and I'll go into that after the first trip through the sub-ruins. From the Flutter, go west and south. If you go north, you'll get into one of the hardest boss fights in the game, with very crappy weapons. So let's do a little side quest first, shall we? Go south into the ruins. Since the reavers are randomized, I can't really help, so just kill anything that's in front of you, and go through the door. There's two paths from next room, east and west. First, go east, killing anything you find on the way. In the next area, kill anything in this room, and head into the hallway to the east. Turn right and search the crack in the wall for 3,000 Zenny. Then, turn north and go straight through the door that's in front of you. Kill any reavers for Zenny, and open the chest in the room to the east. You'll get a Bomb Schematic. Leave the room. Now, to the west there are no treasures, which is what we're going for in this run-through. However, remember this location, as you'll be coming back here on a second run- through. Instead go back to the main entrance where there was a path leading east and west. Once you're there, go west. You'll go through a hallway which leads to a door in the north. This next room is a hallway that also leads east and west. Go west and search the hole in the wall for 6,500 Zenny. Then, go back a few steps and go north. You should come across a two hallways. One goes east, one goes west. Go west for a treasure chest with 2,800 Zenny. The east path contains a treasure chest with 4,000 Zenny. Go back to the intersection and north through the door. There are two hallways leading west here. The furthest one north has a treasure chest with an item: Mechanic Notes 2. Now go north through the door. You'll be in a big room with at one treasure chest containing 2,500 Zenny. There's nothing to the east except a wall that we can't destroy unless we had the Drill Arm. Now go back a few rooms until you can go through a door to the east. (This is the only door we haven't gone through, other than the one with the big room, and the door leading west that I told you to remember.) Go through this door and follow the path until you reach the elevator. Downstairs, you'll come across a boss! Don't worry. He's the same guy that you fought in the mines of Calinca Island. He'll probably have a longer life bar, though, unless you didn't get any Digger's Licenses. Once you beat him, go through the door and pick up the Refractor B. This can be sold for money, or it can be kept in your inventory if you're and item collector. You're done here, but if you want LOTS of money, read on. Otherwise, skip the next paragraph. Either way, go all the way outside and have Data save your game. Since you just got lots of money go into the Flutter and upgrade your special weapons. (I recommend upgrading the Vacuum Arm fully, and then the Homing Missile as much as you can.) To make a lot of money, go back to the ruins you came out of. In the first room, make sure there's a Mimic and nothing else. (A Mimic is a trapped treasure box.) That means there are no frogs and no shield bots. Otherwise, this trick will not work! Once you have a Mimic on the first screen, go through the ruins and go east at the first intersection. In the next room, go east and north to the room I told you to remember before. Inside is a giant golden bird-shaped Reaverbot. This is the guy you want to kill over and over to make TONS of Zenny! And he regenerates, too! Once you kill him, collect all of his Zenny, leave the room and reenter. He'll be back, ready for another killing. Just don't let him ram you or run to far away. He can disappear, and you have to kill him all over again. Keep killing this guy over and over to make TONS and TONS of Zenny! (NOTE: He takes a lot of hits to kill. To easily kill him, shoot him until he falls over. Quickly run over to him and pick him up. Throw him anywhere and one more Buster shot will instantly kill him!) Now, after you've made a lot of money, you can easily buy upgrades for your weapons. First, though, talk to Roll and at the very least buy a new Refrigerator (for 5,000 Zenny). You can buy a subscription to the newspaper and a TV if you want (for another 28,000 Zenny). If you do, you can no longer "Talk to Roll." It's just something to do. But at least buy the Refrigerator, so you can go down to the kitchen and pick up a Picnic Lunch. This awesome item refills you life gauge to full! Anyways, when you're satisfied with your power, go north into the village, where you'll meet Tron Bonne in a crab bot! A cut-scene ensues, and you get to fight Tron. ***************************************************************************** * Tron's Crabby Robot * ***************************************************************************** * The usual way to win the battle is to circle and shoot. To avoid Tron's * * guns, you'll need one of two tactics. If she's just moving in a circle, * * circle and shoot, and jump if bullets are coming your way. If she stops * * and shoots, from both her front and back, move left/right to avoid the * * first round of shots, then the opposite direction to avoid the next * * round. Keep this pattern up until she stops, making sure you jump each * * time. Also, Tron has a ground pound move. Jump to avoid the shockwaves * * or blow off the claws to stop the attacks altogether. (Use the Homing * * Missile to do this quickly.) Eventually, she'll start spinning and move * * all around the town. Say goodbye to the town when this happens. She's * * invincible when she does this attack, and to avoid it, just lock on and * * move sideways. Keep pounding Tron with Homing Missiles and you should be * * able to defeat her easily. * ***************************************************************************** After beating Tron, you'll get another cut-scene and then you'll have control of MegaMan again. For more info, refer to the Story Explanations (part G). Next, head north through the gate. Go to the right side of the house and search the big pot for a Broken Drill. At this point, go back to the Flutter and make a Drill Arm out of the Broken Drill and Heavy Duty Gear. Go ahead and max out, because it only costs about 10,000 Zenny. Make sure to equip it as well, because you won't be able to get all the treasures in the next ruins without it. Now go back to the village and head north. In this area (where you got the Broken Drill), head east and go into the big building. Data is here, so recharge and save. When you head down into the ruins, you'll get a cut-scene, featuring Bola and Klaymoore. When the scene is over, let Roll talk to you, and then head outside. The villagers have returned, so now you can rebuild the village! In the southwest corner, there's a trash can with a Bowling Ball. In this area, there's a girl with a pink shirt. Talk to her several times, and keep on giving her 500 Zenny until she says the village is restored. Leave the area and return. The village magically returned to normal! Next, go searching for some items! There's 800 Zenny and 2,000 Zenny in General Store, 2,000 Zenny in chest in northwest house, 1,200 Zenny in the same house, and 1,800 Zenny in southwest house's dresser. You'll also want to buy some items, listed in the checklist below: (Remember, you can go to the sub-ruins and kill the golden bird repeatedly until you have enough money to buy the stuff.) Things you'll need: 8-9 Bionic Parts (Total) [Junk Shop] 10+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Medicine Bottle [Junk Shop] 5-10 Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Chip [Junk Shop] 1 Padded Armor [Junk Shop] 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) (Heavy Duty Gear [Sulphur-Bottom] + Broken Drill [Pokte Village]) Things you'll want, but don't need right now: 10 Bionic Parts [Junk Shop] Upgrade Pack [Junk Shop] Booster Pack [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] Stuffed Doll [General Store] Model Ship [General Store] 1 Bowling Ball [Pokte trash can] 1 Bomb Schematic [Pokte sub-ruins] 1 Artillery Notes (Mechanic Notes 2) [Manda sub-ruins] 1 Homing Missile (Radar Notes [Yosyonke Town] + Bottle Rocket [Junk Shop]) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) (Broken Vacuum [Yosyonke Town] + Broken Motor [Flutter]) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Long Barrel [Junk Shop] + Broken Model Gun [Calinca Mines]) Things that are fun to buy: Comic Book [General Store] Vase [General Store] House Plant [General Store] (Note: Some items will not appear until you rebuild most, if not all of the village.) If you took the hint, you should have bought the Light Chip. Show this to Roll in the Development Room to make Hover Shoes. You'll want this for the ruins, but it's not required. Though it WILL help some, it's not overly important. Also, the Bionic Parts are pretty cheap if you kill the golden bird about 20 times. (You'll have about 200,000 Zenny - enough to buy most of the stuff on the list.) The Padded Armor would be a good idea, since it cuts down the amount of damage you take by 25%. And there are several bosses in the ruins to come, so you'll need it. Also, the Energy Canteen Packs will help in emergency situations. (Note: Also, go get another Picnic Lunch if you used up the one you had before.) When you're ready, head back into the ruins so we can get started! **********************1g) Manda Island: The Key's Ruins********************** Once inside the ruins, go through the door in the northwest. Follow the path until you reach your second pit. Time your movements and move left and right to avoid those reavers. At the third pit, you'll have to jump up at the opposite side of the spike pillar. Continue on up the elevator. When the game loads, stay where you are. Some frogs will jump towards you, but if you stay back, they won't hurt you. Kill them, and do the same thing with the frogs down the corridor. Through the door at the end, you'll have a little cut-scene, and then you have to fight Bola. ***************************************************************************** * Bola: Round 1 * ***************************************************************************** * This is a very simple, easy battle. Bola starts out by dropping frogs on * * you which you can easily kill. He then teleports into the middle of the * * arena. From here, just circle and shoot. Easy win. * ***************************************************************************** Next, go through the door to the east. Down in the pit area, kill the frog. Take out your Drill Arm and drill into the wall on the south side to reveal a door. In here are two chests and a terminal. One chest contains 10,000 Zenny, the other contains 5,000 Zenny. Download the information on the terminal to get a map of the ruins. Head out the door and east through another door. In this room, you can either fight or time your movements around the spike trap. Personally, I just run through the pit towards the door. However, you can fight the reavers for some Zenny if you want. In the next room, there are more reavers. Kill them easily with the Drill Arm. Go through the door at the end of the corridor, and stop immediately. You don't want to fall off the narrow ledge. Roll will start talking, and when she's done examine the control panel to your right to open a door on the floor below. Jump down and go through the door to the north. Right when you go inside, some little dudes will start shooting energy shots at you. Dodge by moving sideways, and kill all of the little dudes. When you turn the corner, jump on the purple platforms and shoot more of the little guys from up high. Go through the door at the end. You'll be in a room like where you fought Bola, but Bola isn't here. Instead move forward slightly and enemies will drop from the ceiling (if you push R2)! Kill them as best as you can, and proceed through the door. In this room, kill the reavers and download the item data from the terminal on the east side. Go south into the next room and get the Card Key from the treasure chest. All of a sudden, Bola comes back! ***************************************************************************** * Bola: Round 2 * ***************************************************************************** * This is the final fight with Bola, and it's only mildly harder. Bola * * summons some mechanical traps, but they don't do much. Bola will * * teleport close to you, but he throws his blades in close formation, so * * they're easy to dodge. Later in the battle, Bola will shift the traps, * * but * they go in one direction and are easily dodged. He might also jump * * at you, but just jump sideways to avoid him. It's better to take damage * * from a trap than Bola jumping at you. Just keep pounding him with shots * * and you'll win! * ***************************************************************************** When you're done, listen to Roll and go back one room. Go west activate the control panel. Go through the door and you'll be at the entrance. Go left and search the statue on the side with the words. Use the Card Key and activate the ruins. Now go northwest into the door you first went in at the beginning of the ruins. Equip the Hover Shoes, because there's a room ahead where you could use them. I'm not going into much detail, because you've been here before. The only thing different is some of the enemies and some traps. There's an electric floor on the way, but you'll be protected from it because of your Hover Shoes. Keep going, across the newly formed bridge, and into the next room. This room is similar to the one before. Pull out your Drill are again and drill the wall on the west side. Inside, you'll find three treasure chests. They hold 8,000 Zenny, 2,000 Zenny, and a Thick Pipe. If you want, leave the ruins and go get a better special weapon. However, the final boss can easily be beaten with the Drill Arm. In fact, I recommend using it. Go back one room and go north to the room in the east. In this room, kill the reavers and open the treasure chests. One has 4,000 Zenny, the other has 2,000 Zenny. Keep going east. More reavers, you know the drill. The next room has 6,000 Zenny and an elevator. Keep going into the room with the electric floor (keep the Hover Shoes equipped!). In the next room, there are four treasures and some reavers. Two of the chests are trapped, and the other two have a Rusted Mine and a Normal Helmet. If you want, equip the Normal Helmet. The only reason not to equip it is because MegaMan looks cooler without it (plus it doesn't save you from damage unless you get knocked out of the air). Go south into the next room. In this room you'll find... Data?! Well, he teleported again, so take advantage of a good thing. Heal and save, and go into the next room. Approach the alter on the other side of the room, and it's boss fight time! ***************************************************************************** * Giant Frog * ***************************************************************************** * After a short talk sequence with Bola, you get to fight a giant frog! * * Uh... yay? Anyways, if you have the Drill Arm, he's super easy. But * * first, there are other things going on in the room that require our * * attention first. To start off, there are traps on the edges of the room, * * so don't even bother moving on towards the edges. Second, down in the * * pit are some tadpole enemies, so you don't want to go down there, either. * * That limits you to the four pillars, which are the safest places in the * * room. At the start of the battle, the frog bot will do one of three * * things: lick you, shoot bubbles at you, or jump at you. If he shoots his * * tongue at you, move a little ways sideways and jump straight up. You * * should avoid his tongue if it flails up and down, and you should also * * avoid it if it sweeps from side to side. Shoot at him if he shoots * * bubbles at you to pop the bubbles as they come. * * * * Now, the easiest way to win the battle is to have him jump at you. If he * * DOES jump at you, jump sideways to the next pillar. Quickly turn towards * * him (read: lock on), and see if he tipped over. If he landed on his * * back, jump on the same pillar as him and use the Drill Arm. You should * * take his life bar down in seconds, and kill him instantly. * ***************************************************************************** Once you kill the frog, grab the key and you'll exit the ruins automatically. Head back to the Flutter from here. Have Data save your game and have Roll make some weapons for you. The Bowling Ball and Rusted Mine will make the Ground Crawler. The Thick Pipe and Artillery Notes (Mechanic Notes 2) will make the Buster Cannon, a very awesome weapon. At this point you can proceed with the game or you can get some extra items. Some of these items are recovery items, while one of them can be sold for cash. Another is a Buster Part, and the rest are items for a small side- quest. If you don't want to get them, proceed to the next section. Otherwise, go back through the village and into the house near the main ruins. This is the mayor's house, and it's also a school. Here, you will be treated to a little trivia quiz when you talk to the mayor. I'm not going to go over the answers, since there is a big FAQ that covers most of the questions at www.gamefaqs.com. Instead, I'll tell some other information. When you take the mayor's first quiz, you have to pay a measly 100 Zenny. After you pass it, you win a Textbook and an Energizer Pack as a prize. At this point, you can take quizzes from the two students, and the big, 100 question quiz from the mayor. If you don't want to take the mayor's 100 question quiz, you can pay 2,000,000 Zenny to get the big prize. Personally, I wait on this prize for later in the game when I have a better Buster set-up and I can make money much easier from the golden bird. It'd only take me about 15 minutes to get the 2,000,000 Zenny at that time, and I prefer to buy the Zetsabre that over taking the quiz. You don't need it at this point in the game, and you don't really need it at any point of the game, either, unless you're a completionist. As for the students' prizes, the little girl will give you a Pencil, a Candy Apple, a Candy Bar and a Strange Juice. The older student gives you some Notes, some Pokte Tea, a Mug, and a Pokte Pastry. The Textbook, Pencil, and Notes will all be used in a side-quest later on. The Candy Apple and Candy Bar, Pokte Pastry, and Strange Juice are health restoring items. The Mug and Pokte Tea can be sold for cash. If you're an item collector, you won't use or sell any of them except the Textbook, Pencil, and Notes (for use in the side-quest). That's all that's left on Manda Island. If you didn't rebuild the town, refer to my FAQ in the previous section. *********************1h) The Sulphur-Bottom after Key #1********************* Now, travel to the Sulphur-Bottom. Go into Von Blucher's office and you'll talk with the two old men. It looks like the next place we have to go is Nino Island, home of the Digger's Guild. Before we go, check out the shop in the Sulphur-Bottom. You'll notice that new items have been added to the shops. In the next part of the game, we won't be able to backtrack until a certain battle has taken place. This is a good time to take care of all loose ends! First and foremost, max out the Buster Cannon! It might take you a whole 30- 45 minutes to do it, and the rewards will be great! This is one of the best weapons in the game until a ways later, simply because it does TONS of damage, and almost never misses! So go back to Manda and kill the golden bird until you have enough Zenny to max it out. There's an extra ruin where you can get money in the area, but it pales in comparison to the golden bird. Second, when you go back to the Flutter, make sure to give Roll any gifts that you might have. The two items that you can give her are the Stuffed Doll and the Model Ship. There's a method to this madness, but you can't get the benefits yet. You'll need one more item, and you'll get that later. For now, though, go back to Manda and make some money. Here's what you'll want to buy: Things you'll need: 9-10 Bionic Packs [Junk Shop] 15+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Class A License (Minimim) [Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Padded Armor Omega [Junk Shop] 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) (Thick Pipe [Manda main ruins] + Artillery Notes (Mechanic Notes 2) [Manda sub-ruins]) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 7+ Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Resistor Chip [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] 1 Homing Missile (Worked on as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Worked on as best as you can) 1 Ground Crawler (Rusted Mine [Manda main ruins] + Bowling Ball [Pokte Village]) When you're ready, head east of Manda Island to reach Nino Island. ***********************1i) Nino Island: Glyde Attacks!*********************** Once you reach Nino Island you'll get a cut-scene. It looks like you won't be going anywhere for a while (read: the Guildmaster is crrrrrazy)! Once the scene is over, go down the elevator. Look for a trash can to find 3,000 Zenny. Now for the rooms, there's not a whole in them except people. However, in the General Store there's a dresser with 1,500 Zenny inside. Also, you'll find a new item: a Cushion. This is the last of the items that have a heart icon, and it's the last one you need to give Roll. However, you can't give it to her yet. So instead, change to the Drill Arm and save the game! Head down the elevator and look for a door on the same wall as the elevator. It says "Dig Out." Go into the elevator, and not the door. There are some ruins here, so explore them! You'll want to go here for some quick cash but there are no items inside. It's quite small so go ahead and go inside. And again, the enemies here are somewhat randomly generated. To start out, there's a two paths: one to the east, one to the west. I took the one to the west. There's nothing much in the rooms ahead until the path turns east. In the next room, there's a fork to the north. Take out the Drill Arm and drill through the wall here. Inside is a treasure chest with 6,000 Zenny. Go back to the fork and go east. The path will turn south, and eventually, you'll reach another fork. Go east, and drill through the wall. You'll get 12,000 Zenny. Go west, through another room, and you'll be back at the entrance. Go ahead and leave. Once you're back in the Digger's Guild, go through the other door on the other side of the desk. Talk to the Guildmaster and Johnny inside. You'll get a talk sequence, and then a cut-scene. It looks like you get to do some dirty work. First, though, if you haven't already, buy the Cushion! Also, buy any other "heart" icon items that you haven't bought so far (except maybe the Model Ship). Now go to Roll and change your weapon to the Buster Cannon. It's time to fry some Birdbots. Oh, and save the game, too. From Data and Roll, go to the door with the red light above it. You'll get a brief overview of what you need to do - keep the Birdbots away from the crates and the door. Start out by blasting all the Birdbots that are already on the ground. Then, look for a flying ship that's bringing more Birdbots in. Shoot it with your Buster Cannon and notice the incredible range that the Buster Cannon has. It will totally own these battles. Also, shooting the flying bots will make them drop the Birdbots. If you maxed out the attack power of the Buster Cannon, it takes two shots to kill each robot. After a couple minutes, the cannon will finally be repaired. To end the battle, look for the lever to the right of the gate and jump up to open the gate. (If you can't see it, it's high on the wall.) This ends the first assault. Next, talk to Data, recharge, and save. We'll have to do something similar when we go through the next door (with the red light). The next battle is more of the same, but if you have the Buster Cannon, you should be fine. Also, shoot each airplane ONCE with the Buster Cannon. Then take it out with normal Buster shots. The cannons on the platform will help you out more than the last round, and will more than likely do enough damage so one Buster Cannon shot should do the trick. Also, watch out for bombs, and keep an ear out for Birdbot sounds. If you hear Birdbots do their weird squawks, a ship has landed. Take it and the Birdbots out ASAP. (Remember, you can tap the Up button while holding Square for a faster Buster gun.) Eventually, you'll get a cut scene. That means you need to go to one last fight. Heal up and save once more, and then head for the red light. It's boss fight time! ***************************************************************************** * Birdbot Carrier * ***************************************************************************** * This boss is a cinch. All you really have to worry about are the * * Birdbots running along the platform. First off, head left and shoot the * * Birdbots coming your way (don't forget about the two in front of you). * * Then normal Buster fire against the Carrier, instead of using the Buster * * Cannon. Once it starts moving, run to the other side of the docks and * * unload as many Buster Cannon shots as you can. Keep shooting the * * Birdbots, although wait and see if they make it on sturdy ground instead. * * (They can fall off the platform and be useless.) If you keep unloading * * Buster Cannon shots, the Carrier will die in no time. * ***************************************************************************** That's the end, or is it? Nope, not yet. Talk to Data, recharge and save. Then, head to the up elevator and climb the ladder. This is a two part battle, so save your Buster Cannon shots until the next round. Push select, and push circle to select the Lifter. At the start of the battle, follow the ship around and shot all the Birdbots that come out. Ignore the flying ships, and press R2 until you target a Birdbot. If the Birdbots get too close, they'll throw a bomb at the hatch. Use the Lifter, pick up the bomb, and throw it back at them. Keep this up until you get a cut-scene. Now, it's time for the final round! ***************************************************************************** * Birdbot Glider * ***************************************************************************** * Pretty easy. Just switch back to the Buster Cannon and let it rip. * * Just make sure to dodge its ramming attack and you should do fine. * ***************************************************************************** When you're done, go back downstairs and talk to the Guildmaster and then head back upstairs. You'll notice that there's a red light above a door. That's the way to the docks, and you can leave now! Back inside the Flutter, give Roll the Cushion. You should now have given her all three of the "heart" items. Leave the cockpit and reenter. Roll is missing! Capcom decided to put in a little perverted scene here. If you talk to Data, he says she went to take a bath. Go downstairs, into the bathroom, and.... eeeek! *Pose* Anyways, the REAL purpose of getting the "heart" items is so that Roll will give you a discount on weapons development. All prices should be lowered by 10%! Roll was feeling good and bought some tools, so that's why! Anyways, now that you've got the discount, you can work on some of your other weapons, now too. I didn't suggest it before because of this. When you're ready, go ahead and fly over the Calbania Island. It's to the southeast. **********************1j) Calbania Island: Glyde's Base********************** Save your data, and then move ahead one screen. You'll be greeted by two very obnoxious children named Appo and Dah. After a talk scene, search the trash can nearby for 2,000 Zenny. Now follow the twins until you reach Glyde's base! (There's some sub-ruins here. I decided to cover this after Glyde's base.) When you're at Glyde's base, you'll get a cut-scene. It's mission time! First, blast the tank. Then, go for the red turrets. Try to attack from a distance with the Buster Cannon, ignoring the Zenny they drop. The black turrets can really mess you up by launch about 5 bombs at you at one time, causing some real damage. Anyways, you don't have to kill everything. Just make sure the twins get to the left side of the base, either hurt or not. You might need to use the Lifter to put them over there. Once both of the twins are at beside base, walk up to them for a cut-scene. Jump on them and you'll be inside the base. Now you have to kill more planes. This is easy, just avoid the guns and shoot ONLY at the planes. Ignore the turrets on the wall. Heck, shoot the planes that are on the ground first for an easier victory. When you're done, look for a floating key and walk over it to pick it up. Look for the spot you came in by (marked with a red flashing arrow) and walk through the door nearby. The first thing you'll notice is that Data came along! The second thing you'll notice is that you're back outside. The third thing you'll notice is, that's right, I'm going to tell you to recharge and save. Go back inside and go right to a door. You'll have to destroy a tower now. The easiest thing to do is to first take out the turrets, and then shoot Buster Cannon shots at the top of the tower. You'll kill several Birdbots at once, and eventually kill them all. Watch out for the bombs. Once you destroy the tower, look for a key like before. Next, go inside and search the fridge for... a Fried Chicken?! CANNIBALS!!! Anyways, search the lockers for an Accessory Pack. Now here's probably the best Buster Combo, now that you have it: Best Buster Combos: 1) Power Raiser + Accessory Pack Anyways, if you've got a lot of life, go into the next room, otherwise, go back to Data and do your thing. In the next area, you need to kill three tanks. The only thing difficult here is that you're probably going to get shot a lot. So hold down square when you're getting shot to get some Buster gun shots in. Use the Buster Cannon whenever you DON'T hear gunfire. Use Data, now and then go back to the last area. This is the easy part of the base. Take out the big bird robots with a couple shots from your Buster Cannon. Once all the enemies are gone, go hog wild. Destroy all the buildings you want. It's fun. Anyways, take two of the crates and put them in the blue spot under the window. You'll have to stack them, so jump and throw the second crate onto the first. If you can't find any crates, destroy the buildings. Once you're in the tower, kill the Birdbots and you'll get a cut-scene. After it's over, you'll have to get out of the base QUICKLY! First, though, shoot all the Birdbots that are walking around. Then, use your Buster Cannon to destroy the tanks at the gate. Switch over to the Lifter and pick up Shu. Then, just walk right out. You'll be back at their house, and you'll get a Cute Piggy as a reward..... Also, if you got the Textbok, Notes, and Pencil in Pokte, give them to Shu. The twins will write you letters later. Go back to the Flutter and do your thing with Data. But we're not done yet! There are some ruins on this island that we haven't explored. Skip ahead to the next section if you don't want to do them. Go back towards Glyde's base and in the big area, look for some ruins on the northwest side. (Reaverbots will pop up out of the ground here.) Go inside. (Note: I don't think you can go in if you don't have a Class A license.) Once inside, go south and east through the door. Now you'll be in a four-way intersection. Go south, and at the end, search the crack in the wall for 3,000 Zenny. Go back to the previous room and go north. There is also 3,000 Zenny at the end of the north path. Go back to the previous room and go east. The next room curves south to another room. This is a big room with two cracks in the wall and an elevator. Go to the southeast part of the room for a crack and 5,000 Zenny. Then, go to the northwest part of the room for 8,000 Zenny (in the other crack). Go down the elevator. In this room there are three items: a Sniper Unit, 3,000 Zenny, and 5,000 Zenny. Go back upstairs, and go through the door to the northeast. Eventually, you'll be in another four-way intersection. Go north for a Rusty Bazooka, 5,000 Zenny, and 8,000 Zenny in the treasure chest and the cracks in the walls. Go back to the intersection and go south, as there's nothing to the east. Eventually, you'll face a boss! Basically, this boss battle is the same as the final battle in the S Class Digger's Test. It's two Shurakurusus. Follow the same tactics as before. Manually aim, circle and shoot, and jump over them when they dash at you. They may have long life bars, but each Buster shot should take of big chunks of damage. When you kill both of them, search the two cracks in the wall for 7,500 Zenny and 12,000 Zenny. Go through the door to the east to obtain a Refractor A. This can be sold for money or can be kept in your inventory if you're an item collector. Go ahead and leave when you're done here. When you're leave the ruins, head back to the Flutter. Have Data save your game and go back to Nino Island. Back at Nino Island, talk to the Guildmaster or Johnny and you'll get a cut- scene. When it's over, you'll need to go back inside the complex, but before that there's Data. Yup, you guessed it. Anyways, you need to go up the up elevator. There's a cut-scene, and now you have to shoot down the missile coming your way. It's easy fodder for the Buster Cannon. After time runs out, you've won! You'll get another cut-scene, and then you can enter the Nino Ruins! Finally! But first though, before the Guildmaster opens the ruins, you'll need to speak with him in his office. Speak with Johnny, also to get a Firecracker. Next, head into the blue door and give the Cute Piggy to the girl inside. There's not much of a point to this, other than the fact that you can become Dark MegaMan easily. (That means, kick the pig repeatedly. Don't do this now though, do it later when I tell you to.) Then, head back to the Flutter and change your special weapon to the Drill Arm. There's only one real boss in the ruins, and the other bosses can easily be killed with the Drill Arm in a matter of seconds. Also, there are some walls we need to drill through, so it makes sense to bring the Drill Arm along. Also, take a look at the checklist of items you'll need to bring along in the next section. **********************1l) Nino Island: Nino Main Ruins*********************** Best Buster Part Combos: 1) Power Raiser + Energizer Pack + Accessory Pack 2) Power Raiser + Buster Unit + Accessory Pack Now, if you noticed, I have three Buster parts listed in the Best Buster Part Combos. Why is that? In Nino Island, visit the Junk Shop and buy the Joint Plug. Show it to Roll in the Development Room to make an Adapter Plug, which lets you equip THREE Buster parts at the same time! Also, have Roll make a Hyper Shell out of the Rusty Bazooka and Firecracker. Now go ahead and verify you have everything on the checklist. Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 17+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 7+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class A License (Minimum) [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Padded Armor Omega [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) (Equipped) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 10+ Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Resistor Chip [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] 1 Homing Missile (Worked on as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Work as best as you can) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out, preferably, because it's cheap.) 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Rusty Bazooka [Calbania sub-ruins] + Firecracker [From Johnny]) Verify that you have all of the items, and save the game at the Flutter. These ruins are quite large, so you'll want to be prepared. Set aside at least an hour, because you'll have to go about that long before you reach the next save point. When you're ready, head down to the basement of Nino and hop in the big hole in the floor. (Note: By the way, at this point, you're about halfway through the game.) Once inside, head through the only door. Use the elevator to down one floor. The next couple of rooms only have Reaverbots inside. Keep going until you go through a door to the east. This room has a large drop-off. Before jumping down, make sure you have the Jet Skates equipped. Then, use the Jet Skates and aim to the left. The room is three squares wide here. Aim for the middle square and you should fall into a hole in the wall. If you miss it, jump back up the ledges until you're above the ledge, and Jet Skate into the ledge. From the ledge, look outside of it to your left, and you should see another ledge. Back up, and use the Jet Skates so that you'll jump over there, too. (Hold Up to go faster.) On this ledge there's a treasure chest with 2,500 Zenny. Next, you'll have to make a blind jump. Stand to the right of the treasure chest facing towards the main room. Aim to the left of the opening, and curve around your Jet Skated jump in a half circle. (Use the L2 button to turn faster. Use the Up button so you'll automatically jump. Also, hold Down and Left during your jump to help you reach the ledge.) If you do it right, you should either land inside or grab on to another ledge. Keep trying until you get it right. There's a door on this ledge. Go inside. Now proceed down the hallway and you'll come to a tattered wall. If you took my recommendations, you should have the Drill Arm equipped. Drill through this wall and look for a door to the north. Go in here and go through the next door. In this room you'll find a treasure chest with 12,500 Zenny. Now go back to the room with the cliffs and ledges. Jump down and go through the door. In this room, there are some blocks, a high ledge, a door to the southeast, and a drillable wall to the west. First, go through the drillable wall. IN this next room, look to the northeast for a room with a trap. Avoid the button unless you want to fight some snakes. If you get hit by the snakes, you'll be afflicted with the Energy Drain status. Either use the Medicine Bottle or switch your Drill Arm to the Lifter to avoid having your special weapon energy from being drained. There's 5,000 Zenny in this hallway, then, go back to the previous intersection in the same room and head west. This next room has a Mechanic Notes 3. Go back to the room with the very high ledge. Go southeast, through the door, and up the elevator. In this room, you'll find a control panel. Activate it, and go back downstairs. The first thing you'll notice is that the area is filled with water. An important point to remember here is that when you flood the ruins, every floor below the control panel fills with water. The floors on the same level and above the control panel do not. At this point, you'll want to switch to the Lifter and change your footwear to the Hydrojets. MegaMan moves very slowly in water, and if you want to finish the ruins sometime this year, you'll want to equip the Hydrojets, which acts like the Jet Skates under water. Go back to the room with the high ledge, pick up the silver blocks, and put them under the ledge. You couldn't pick up the blocks before, because they were too heavy. Now that the room is filled with water, you can pick them up. Stack the blocks under the ledge and jump up. Proceed through the new two doors and take the elevator to B3. Two rooms later, there are a few things of note. There's a door to the east, a drillable wall to the west, and a strong current to the north. First, head to the west, pick up the block, and toss it onto the button that's very close to the strong current. Next, head east through the door and take the elevator to B2. In this room, there are two control panels. Activate both of them, and head back down to B3. You'll notice that you drained the water again. You want to have done this. Next, head west through the drillable wall and go through two more doors. In this room, there's a treasure chest with 20,000 Zenny and a device that produces strong currents. Since there's no water, you can walk past the current device without having to stop the current like before. Go through two more doors and drill through the wall to the east. Next, head east instead of south. It's time for a boss fight! ***************************************************************************** * Jellyfish Trio: Air * ***************************************************************************** * Get used to fighting these guys. They appear three times in the game, * * but you can fight them in three different ways. In Nino, the best way to * * kill these guys is to have the water drained out of the room first. To * * kill them quickly, run up to them and use the Drill Arm. If there were * * water, you would have to circle and shoot, because they can only move * * around in water. However, when they're stationary, just run up to them * * and drill away. You should be able to take the first one down almost all * * the way before you take a hit. At this time, shoot him normally until he * * dies. Then, drill the next one, run around when you get hit, and when * * the coast is clear, drill him some more. Keep this tactic up with the * * last one and you should win easily. * ***************************************************************************** Once you kill the last jellyfish, look in his remains for a Water Key 1. At this point, you need to backtrack and fill the floor with water again. Head west out of the room with the jellyfish and either go back through drilled walls or, for a shortcut, head south. If you head south, you'll be in a room that has four giant fish. Kill them if you want, because they are pretty helpless without water. Anyways, head back to the elevator room (check your map) and fill B3 with water. Once B3 is filled with water, go back to the jellyfish room and head east through the door. Go south through the next door, and you'll be in a room with another large cliff. Stack the blocks like you did before, and jump up the ledge and head into the next room. In this room, head west and drill through the western wall. Go through this hallway and in the next room, you'll find a treasure chest with a Power Blaster. At this point, you'll want to equip the Power Blaster. Here are a few good Buster Combos: 1) Power Blaster + Power Raiser + Accessory Pack 2) Power Blaster + Booster Pack + Accessory Pack 3) Power Blaster + Rapid Fire + Accessory Pack 4) Power Blaster + Buster Unit + Accessory Pack No matter what you choose, go back into the previous room and go through the southeast door. Use the elevator to go to B4. A couple of rooms later, you'll be in a cliff room like in the beginning of the ruins. From the top of the cliff, use your Hydojets and skate off to the north end of the room. Since this room is also three squares wide, head for the middle square on the north side. While you're falling, you should hit a ledge with a treasure chest that contains 4,000 Zenny. Your next target is the northwest door, on a ledge. This should be easy to get to since you're already one ledge away. (Note: You can also go south to download the map data. However, in the same room is a switch to drain the water. You DON'T want to drain the water, however, because there's a couple treasure chests we can't reach unless the room is flooded with water. Also, we can't proceed with the game) In this room, drill through the wall and go through a couple more rooms. You'll be in a room where you have to stack the blocks again. On the other side of the ledge is a Range Booster Alpha. This is a nice item, but the Best Buster Combos shown above still hold to be the best. Now, go back to the room where you drilled through the wall and head through the northwest door. You'll be in another room with cliffs. However, the only ledge is at the far end, and it's very high up too. So how do you reach it? First, have the room filled with water (which you should already have). Then, use the Hydrojets, hold Up on the D-pad, and basically fly to the ledge. It'll take a few seconds to get there, but you can do it. If you make it to the ledge, you should grab on and pull yourself up. Go through the door here and open the treasure chest for a Sower. Go back into the previous room, drop down, and go through the door in the southwest. Go through the next room, and you should be in a giant room with sand. Don't worry about the giant stingray in this room. He won't attack you. Instead, you can jump on his back and reach the ledges above! However, before you do so, use your Hydrojets and map out the room. You should find that there are three pillars in the room. There's one in the northeast, one in the west, and one in the southeast. Once you map out the room, jump on the stingray and ride him until you come close to the pillar in the west. Jump up to the pillar and get the item inside the treasure chest - a Water Key 2. From here, look at your map at aim MegaMan at the pillar in the northeast. Use the Hydrojets and do a long jump over to the pillar. Make sure you make contact with the treasure chest so you don't fall off the pillar. Inside of this treasure chest is 20,000 Zenny. If you DO fall off, use the stingray again to make it up on top. Also, there's nothing on top of the southeast pillar, so don't bother with it. When you're done here, go south through the door. Go down the elevator, and.... Data?! How DOES he do it? Anyways, save your game and recharge, because there's two boss fights ahead, and Data will be unavailable between them. When you're done with Data, go through the next hallway, and through the door. (You need both of the keys to open this door. The two keys are from the jellyfish bosses and from the room with the stingray.) Once you make it inside, you can take the second key from the altar. When you do, you get attacked by Klaymoore! ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore: Round 1 * ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore is probably the easiest boss around. Just take your Drill Arm * * and kill him with it. He'll be over in a matter of seconds. If you * * don't have the Drill Arm, just circle and shoot, jumping to avoid his * * attacks. * ***************************************************************************** When you take out Klaymoore, he'll run away. At this point, you have to walk ALL the way back to the entrance. This is the easy part of the ruins, since you've got a map telling you how to get back and what the shortest path to the entrance is. Data left, so you can't save the game until you get back out. Also, all the water has been drained, so you can walk back much more quickly. Once you get to the entrance, you'll have to fight Klaymoore again. ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore: Round 2 * ***************************************************************************** * This is the same story as the first fight. Just nail him with the Drill * * Arm and the battle will be over before you know it. * ***************************************************************************** Once Klaymoore is taken out a second time, you'll get another cut-scene, and you're free to leave Nino Island. Head back to the Sulphur-Bottom! Also, up to this point, you've met some interesting characters. I put in a brief summary on them in Story Explanations (part H). *********************1l) The Sulphur-Bottom after Key #2********************* Once you're back at the Sulphur-Bottom, head straight back to Von Blucher and give him the key. Your next location is Saul Kada Island. But before we go there, some new items have popped up in stores everywhere! If you go to a Junk Shop, you'll want to buy a Resistor Chip, a Superball, a Flame Barrier, a Link Armor, and as many Buster parts as you can. Remember, you can get lots of money from the golden bird at Manda! When you're back at the Flutter, have Roll make some new items. The Resistor Chip can be used to make some Asbestos Shoes. The Superball and the Bomb Schematic can be combined into a Reflector Arm. The Sower and the Spreadfire Notes (Mechanic Notes 3) can be combined into a Spread Buster. After making some new items, change your weapon! You no longer need the Drill Arm for the rest of the game, so go ahead and switch it off for something better. The Hyper Shell and the Buster Cannon are the two best weapons at this point in the game. Go ahead and max them out if you feel like it. However, you can get by with just the Buster Cannon, since you probably maxed it out before. Take this time to upgrade any weapons that you want. Now that you have some good Buster Parts, you can max out the Attack portion of your Buster gun, so you can make TONS of money, and this time, in a short amount of time. Equip the Power Raiser Alpha, the Power Blaster, and the Accessory Pack to easily kill the golden bird in Manda. Bring along the Vacuum Arm (maxed out) to speed up the process. Also, since getting money is not much of a problem anymore, go ahead and start boosting you Energy Canteen and Medicine Bottle. You might also want to consider getting the Zetsabre from the mayor in Pokte. You COULD try the 100 question quiz, but I feel it's just a lot easier to buy it. If you miss just one question on the quiz, you have to start ALL OVER! Therefore, I just think it's easier to spend 2,000,000 Zenny on it. It'll cause you less of a headache. Think of it, it'll take you about 30-60 minutes to get 2,000,000 Zenny (that's 200 golden birds when you have an S Class License) or you could spend an hour trying the quiz, unless you get lucky on the first try. Also, if you haven't done this yet, GET THE S CLASS LICENSE. My walkthrough above (section 1e) goes over the easiest way to pass the test. There are some ruins with some very good items ahead, and you can't go inside unless you have it. For now, let's cover what you should have, in both Buster set- ups and all the items from the stores. Best Buster Combos: 1) Power Raiser Alpha + Rapid Fire Alpha + Accessory Pack 2) Power Raiser Alpha + Buster Unit + Accessory Pack 3) Power Raiser Alpha + Power Blaster + Accessory Pack Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 20-30+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 15+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Flame Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class S License [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Resistor Chip (Asbestos Shoes) [Junk Shop] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Link Armor [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Upgraded as best as you can) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 20+ Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] 1 Padded Helmet [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] 1 Homing Missile (Upgraded as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Upgraded as best as you can) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out) 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Reflector Arm (Upgraded as best as you can) (Superball [Junk Shop] + Bomb Schematic [Manda sub-ruins]) 1 Spread Buster (Upgraded as best as you can) (Sower [Nino Ruins] + Spreadfire Notes (Mechanic Notes 3) [Nino Ruins]) When you feel you're ready, head into Sual Kada Island. ***********************1m) Saul Kada: Ruins and Bonnes*********************** Here we are, Saul Kada Island. It's basically a big desert. Once you land, have Data save your game, change to your best weapon, and then head into the desert. There are some ruins in this area, and they're fill with water. Since we just came out of a similar ruin, I'll cover this before we get into the city. The ruins are in the southwest portion of the desert. If you can't get in, then you didn't follow what I told you to do. Go back to Nino or Yosyonke and get the S Class Digger's License. Once you're inside the ruins, you'll notice that they're filled with water. Equip your Hydrojets and head west through the door. Go through this hallway into the next room. In here, even though the Reaverbots are pretty much random, you'll probably encounter some giant fish. The easiest way to kill them is to use your Buster gun. In the previous section, I gave you a few combos, and combo #1 seems to work quite well. At the end of the room is a crack in the wall with 25,000 Zenny. Head back into the entrance room and head east. The hallway east of the elevator curves around in a circle, and then back west. So enter the door leading west. After the path stops zigzagging, go north at the intersection. Walk past the door to a dead-end with a crack in the wall. Search this crack for a Sensor. (This is the only crack that has an item throughout the entire game!) Go back to the door you passed earlier and head inside. Open the treasure chest for 18,000 Zenny. Go back to the previous room. Next, go back to where the hallway zigzagged, and go east at the intersection. In the next room, go east through the door to get a Mechanic Notes 6. Go back to the previous room and head north. Go east from here and open the treasure chest for 15,000 Zenny. Then, go back to the previous room, go west, and north through the next door. Inside you get to fight those jellyfish Reaverbots again. Since this battle is different from Nino (you're fighting them in water this time), I'm including a separate boss fight strategy. ***************************************************************************** * Jellyfish Trio: Water * ***************************************************************************** * Even though there's three of them, they're easy enough to kill. Focus on * * one of the jellyfish and shoot with your Buster gun. If you equipped the * * Power Raiser Alpha + Rapid Fire Alpha + Accessory Pack, you can kill * * these guys quickly. The trick, though, is to kill one and work on the * * other two at the same time. The thing is, when you get down to one * * jellyfish, the last one gets much harder to beat. So if you take the * * last two down at the same time, you'll have an easy time killing the last * * jellyfish. As for their attacks, they shoot energy balls, which can * * basically be avoided by circling and shooting. Once you have the last * * jellyfish left to kill, he starts dropping mines. Also, he puts his * * defense shield a LOT more than before, so you can only damage him at * * certain times. Other than that, they're pretty easy. * ***************************************************************************** Once you're finished, head north through the door and pick up the Refractor S. This can be sold or kept if you're an item collector. You're done here, so head out of the ruins and north to Kimotoma City. First, before you start inside Kimotoma City, DO NOT have the Hyper Shell equipped. There's a boss with a particular way to be killed, and the Hyper Shell will cause problems more than help. Instead, equip the Buster Cannon because it's a single shot without a big explosion that the Hyper Shell has. Trust me; you don't want a big explosion-type weapon. Anyways, head north and you'll find Data again. Do your thing, and head north into the next part of the city. Kill all of the Bonne robots, and the head northeast into the next section of the city. Go east, and it's a boss fight! ***************************************************************************** * Bonne Cannon * ***************************************************************************** * Well, it's not REALLY a boss fight, but he does have a boss life bar. Go * * forward and shoot the small cannons in front of you. Then, jump over the * * fence and circle the cannon so you're behind it. Shoot your Buster gun * * until it dies. (It can't shoot you when you're behind it.) * ***************************************************************************** Once you kill the cannon, pick up the Blue Bonne Key and head north into the side passage of the house. In here are a few jars. Search them to find 3,000 Zenny, 1,800 Zenny, and 1,000 Zenny. Go back the way you came and open the door with the big Bonne symbol. Make sure you talk to the guy in the red shirt, and then leave. Go back to the are where you first fought some of the Bonnes' robots and go through the door to the northwest. There's three doors here that you haven't been in. Go through the door in the southwest. Search the bookshelf for 1,000 Zenny. Search the table for 2,000 Zenny. Then, go back one area and head through the door in the northwest. Kill some more Bonne robots and shoot the Servbots in the windows. You might notice the room above on your map. There's nothing there, so go north through the door. From here take a left and jump over the fence. Shoot down the cannon here and then jump back over the fence. Head east around the building and talk to the truck driver there. (If he's not there, go back one paragraph and talk to him in the room behind the Bonne symbol.) You'll get a little cut-scene, and now the path is clear! Take out all of the cannons and tanks and proceed through the door to the north. There's a lot of people here, including a Junk Shop and General Store. The General Store is selling some new items, so buy them if you have the money. (The items are Wallpaper, a Game Cartridge, and Painting.) Now jump behind the counter to the northwest and grab the Red Bonne Key that's in hiding. Go east once you grab it, through a door or two, and talk to Data before proceeding. You know what that means! Boss time! Well then, go through the door with the Bonne symbol, and you get to fight Teisel! ***************************************************************************** * Blitzkreig * ***************************************************************************** * This fight is both easy and hard at the same time. If all you needed to * * do was kill the Blitzkrieg, then it would be a cinch. However, you have * * to avoid destroying the statue, so you'll have to time your attacks. * * First, though, the sand will slow you down, so jump on a platform to the * * side. Stay on the lower section of the plat form, hide behind the middle * * part of the platform, and shoot off ONE shot of the Buster Cannon at a * * time. Teisel will go into defensive mode, so you'll need to stop * * shooting so you don't hit the statue. Keep this up until you win. Also, * * Servbots will drive little kamikaze drill machines. They'll try to jump * * up at you, so dodge them by going to the opposite side of the platform. * ***************************************************************************** Once you've finished off Teisel, head south through the door and you'll find the Flutter! Take this time to save and make some money. There's a secret shop here, but you can't buy from it unless you're Dark MegaMan. That means you'll want to save up a LOT of Zenny, because it takes a LOT of Zenny to become Light MegaMan again. Here's what you do: go back to Manda and fight the golden bird until you have 3,110,000 Zenny. Yes, it's a lot, but you'll need THAT much Zenny in order to buy the stuff from the shop and become Light MegaMan again. But I hear you say "Why do I even need to become light MegaMan again?" Simply because, Light MegaMan gets a 20% discount at every store in the game, and Dark MegaMan gets a 20% markup, so you pay more. To become Dark MegaMan, go to Nino and into the room where you gave the girl the pig. Kick the pig over and over again until you become Dark MegaMan (it takes about 50-100 kicks). To become Light MegaMan, you'll need to donate money to the Yosyonke church, 1,000,000 Zenny at a time. (You can donate 1,000,000 Zenny once you buy all of the trader's items, and you can wait until after the Kimotoma Ruins and donate another 1,000,000 or 2,000,000 Zenny. It's just to even things out a bit.) (Tip: A good way to test if you're fully Dark or fully Light is to go to a Junk Shop and check the price of the Extra Packs. If you've bought enough packs, the price will not go up when you buy more of them. This is at about 15 packs. If the price is 20,000 Zenny, you're normal. If the price is higher (about 24,000 Zenny), you're Dark MegaMan. If the price is lower (about 16,000 Zenny), you're Light MegaMan.) TO reinforce the idea of becoming Light MegaMan, think of the benefits in saving money at the Junk Store. If you were going through the game and you wanted to buy everything possible, then you'd have to buy all the canteen packs for the Energy Canteen and Medicine Bottle. If you were Dark MegaMan compared to Light MegaMan, and you had about 20 Energy Canteen packs, it'd cost you an extra 800,000 Zenny to get up to 99 packs! And that's just the Energy Canteen! Double that for the Medicine Bottle and you'd have to spend an extra 1,600,000 Zenny! And remember, this is BEFORE you buy anything else. The final Buster parts cost around 500,000+ Zenny. If you were to throw in a markup, they'd add another 100,000+ Zenny apiece! So overall, you'd pay an upward amount of about 2,200,000+ Zenny, and you'll have people hate you at the same time. So, it's much better to become Light MegaMan, have the really cool bright armor, and for just a little bit more of an expense than if you were to have stayed dark. Anyways, to find the store, go to the northwest platform of where you fought Teisel. The store is the shady trader that's hiding here. But to buy, you'll need to become Dark MegaMan. The two things you can buy from this guy are a Reaverbot Eye and a Taser. Also, you can sell the Reaverbot Claw you got from the Yosyonke Junk Store man. You can make 50,000 Zenny off it, but if you're an item collector, don't sell it. Also, once you can sell the Reaverbot Eye that you bought from him to the Junk Store man in Yosyonke. You'll can barter him up to 300,000 Zenny, therwise if you go higher, he'd drop down to a measly 10,000 Zenny, which is more than you paid for it. You have to be Dark MegaMan to sell it, though. Also, go to the Flutter and have Roll make a Hunter Seeker out of the Sensor and Autofire Notes (Mechanic Notes 6). When you think you're ready, proceed to the next section of the Walkthrough! *****************************1n) Kimotoma Ruins****************************** First, before we head inside, take this time to work on your weapons. You can get plenty of Zenny from the golden bird at Manda, so go ahead and max out the cheap-to-upgrade weapons like the Reflector Arm. Also, the Hyper Shell will kick some arse in the ruins, so go and max that out, too. Three other things that you'll want are the Fire Barrier, Light Barrier, and Asbestos Shoes. The Fire Barrier and Asbestos Shoes are good for the lava pits ahead, and the Light Barrier is good for some of the enemies that can affect you with the numbing status effect. Or, you can just proceed, since you don't really need to. Here's some Buster part combos and a checklist of things you should have to be prepared: Best Buster Combos: 1) Power Raiser Alpha + Rapid Fire Alpha + Accessory Pack 2) Power Raiser Alpha + Buster Unit + Accessory Pack 3) Power Raiser Alpha + Power Blaster + Accessory Pack Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 20-30+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 15+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Flame Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class S License [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Resistor Chip (Asbestos Shoes) [Junk Shop] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Link Armor [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] 1 Taser [Kimotoma Shady Trader] Light MegaMan (or close to it, anyways. Donate at least 1-3 million Zenny to the church, 1,000,000 Zenny at a time) 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Maxed out, preferably) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 35+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 20+ Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] 1 Padded Helmet [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] 1 Homing Missile (Upgraded as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Maxed out, preferably) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out) 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Reflector Arm (Maxed out, preferably) 1 Spread Buster (Maxed out, preferably) 1 Hunter Seeker (Upgraded as best as you can) (Sensor [Kimotoma sub-ruins] + Autofire Notes (Mechanic Notes 6) [Kimotoma sub-ruins]) (Note: I had everything bought from every store except the Energy Canteen Packs and Medicine Bottle Packs. Also, I had every weapon maxed out except for the Homing Missile and Hunter Seeker. I did not have the Zetsabre yet, but I HAD gotten the shady trader's items. I had already donated 2,000,000 Zenny to the church, because there's a way to get that much money donated without getting overly bored. First, you go into the Manda ruins and get about 700,000 Zenny. Then, spend about 200,000 Zenny on upgrades and go back inside for another 500,000 Zenny. Go to the church and donate 1,000,000 Zenny, then repeat the process.) Head inside of the Kimotoma Ruins. (The entrance is where Teisel was when you fought him.) As you move forward, you'll get a mini cut-scene. You can't go through the door to the north, so go through the door to the east. Kill the reavers, then go down the hallway. You can't use the elevator at the end, so go through the door to the south. There's nothing in the next two rooms, but keep going to a third room to reach two control panels. One of them will activate the elevator; the other will give you the item data. Head back into the previous room and kill the reavers that mysterious appeared. Go back to the elevator and go down a floor. There's a giant Reaverbot in this hallway, but he's on the other side of the windows. He can smash his head through the windows, but you can't kill him, so don't bother. Proceed down the hallway and take the elevator down to B3. And once again, Data is here. You know the drill. Go into the next room, and you'll get a cut-scene. This is the giant Reaverbot you saw earlier; however, you can't kill it... yet. Instead, equip the Asbestos Shoes and run southeast through the door. In this next little hallway, stay to side of the hall and go through the east door. The reason you want to stay to side is because there's a trap in the middle that holds you in one place and sucks your energy. If you get hit with it, move the D-pad around in circles until you break free. In the next room, there's move lava. Go through the door to the north and you'll see another trap. Just shoot straight, preferably with one shot of the Hyper Shell. You'll destroy a control panel and deactivate the trap. Open the two treasure chests for an Autofire Unit Omega and a Mechanic Notes 5. Go back to the room with the lava and head east. Go through two more rooms to reach a couple of control panels. One will give you the map of the place; the other will unlock some doors. Now go all the way back to the room with the giant Reaverbot. Use Data in the northwest room if you need to, and the head through the door southwest of the giant Reaverbot. Go through another room, and in this bigger room with lava, go southeast through the door. There are more floor traps in this hallway, so move south at the edge of the hallway to the door that's nearby. In this room, there are two treasures: 15,000 Zenny and a Mechanic Notes 4. The other treasure chest is trapped, but you can make a very small amount of Zenny off of it. Head back into the previous room, staying along the edge, and go north through the door at the end of the hallway. Through the next door is a control panel. Activate it, and then head back into the room with the giant Reaverbot. Bo back and use Data if needed, then head through the door north of the giant Reaverbot. Now, this room is basically one big fire pit. You've got those Reaverbot dragons and tons of lava. Now if you look at your map (which you should have downloaded earlier), you'll notice that the room you're looking for is northwest of the entrance. To get there, you must pick your poison, per se. If you stay out of the lava, you'll get attacked by several dragons. If decide to go west and around the corner in the lava, you'll avoid the dragons, but will take some lava damage. Personally, I pick the lava, because the dragons can deal out more damage than the lava. If you DO pick the lava path, keep on jumping so the Flame Barrier can cut down the damage. Either way, go through the door to the northwest and activate the control panel inside. Now, go back to Data, save the game (two bosses incoming!), and head southeast of the giant Reaverbot. In this room, you'll notice that the two pillars have been lit. Because you activated all the control panels, you can now go inside this door. The Bonnes are here! You'll get a cut- scene, and the move forward and tell Tron that you're going to help her. It's... uh boss time? ***************************************************************************** * Giant Rock?! * ***************************************************************************** * Ok, this really isn't a boss, but I'm sticking to the rule, "If it has a * * boss life bar, it's a boss." This "boss" is pretty simple. If you were * * to shoot at the rock, you could take down most of the life bar by * * yourself. However, it regenerates when you shoot it, and you can only * * take down so much of the life bar before it'd stop going down. Instead, * * enlist the help of Tron and Bon! Shoot some of the little Reaverbots * * running around until they fall over. Then, stop shooting, and either * * Tron or Bon will pick it up and throw it at the rock. Note that Tron and * * Bon HAVE to be the ones to take down the life bar at the end of the * * battle - you can't do it yourself. Also, avoid shooting Tron and Bon; * * otherwise, they'll start attacking you instead of the pillar. You can't * * kill them, so don't even try. You'll get your chance later. ;) * ***************************************************************************** After the pillar falls, you'll get a cut-scene. Head back into the room with the giant Reaverbot, and now you get to fight a REAL boss. ***************************************************************************** * Giant Reaverbot * ***************************************************************************** * This guy is actually pretty simple, but he has some strong attacks. * * First, he should be continuously attacking you with these blue energy * * rings. These can be destroyed, and if you keep shooting the giant * * Reaverbot with the Hyper Shell, you can take several of these rings out * * at once. Second, he is yet another boss that has a ground pound move. * * Just jump over the shockwave to avoid damage. Third, he has fire bombs. * * These attacks will probably hit you out of the blue, but don't do much * * damage and aren't used very often. Finally, his last move is a * * flamethrower move. He shoots a steady stream of fire from his head, but * * he doesn't rotate, so you can easily move to the side and blast away. To * * kill him, just use the Hyper Shell over and over. He should be over in * * no time. * ***************************************************************************** When you're done, pick up the First Floor Key and go northwest and back towards the entrance. When you're battling in the hallways in B1 and B2, stay to the side of the hallways because some of those floor traps showed up while you were down in B3. Eventually, you'll make it up to the first room you where you originally came in. While you're here, go outside and save the game at the Flutter. Then, head back in, and go through the door north of the entrance. You'll be in another very large room filled with lava. From the entrance of the room, look a little ways to the right. Lock-on to the Reaverbot and shoot it with your Hyper Shell. It should die in about 3-5 Hyper Shell shots, and if you stay far enough away, he won't attack you. He takes a lot to kill, and can do some major damage, so stay as far away as you can and attack from a distance. Next, go to where he was after you killed him and face west. There's another one of those Reaverbots. Do the same thing as before. Next, head over to the northeast section of the floor. (Note: In this room, there's also a flying Reaverbot. If you lock-on to him when you're near him and you're standing on dry land, he'll either drop a bunch of refractors or a fiery Zakobon. This is an alright place to make some money, but it's still not as good as killing the golden bird. Also, he should stop dropping refractors after a while.) You should see two small platforms out in the lava to the north. Jump over to the eastern one and jump up to the ledge. Go through the door here. Inside, you'll find three items: 24,000 Zenny, 30,000 Zenny, and a Soft Ball. Go back into the large room and head to the northwest door. Go into the next room for a short cut-scene. It looks like you have to catch up to Bon! Go through the door to the west and up the incline. Go through the door to the east, and you'll get into a fight with Tron! ***************************************************************************** * Gustaff * ***************************************************************************** * If you've played The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, you'll recognize this * * robot as a modified version of the Gustaff! Anyways, start out by * * shooting the Servbots until they both fall over. Then, wait until Tron * * drops her shield and blast her with the Hyper Shell. Because she's big * * and a little slow, a single Hyper Shell shot could take down about 95% of * * her life bar! From this point, just shoot her with normal Buster gun * * shots and she'll be gone in no time. * ***************************************************************************** After the battle, you'll be treated to a hilarious cut-scene. After it's over, go south through the door for another short cut-scene. Jump down and track down Bon (go into the big lava room mentioned before). It looks like you get to fight Bon this time! ***************************************************************************** * Bon Bonne * ***************************************************************************** * Easy, easy, easy. Just nail him with a couple of Hyper Shell shots and * * he's dead in no time. * ***************************************************************************** When you're finished, pick up the key and you'll be transported to outside the ruins. Now that we're done with lava, go ahead and change your Asbestos Shoes to something else, like the Jet Skates. Now go back to the Sulphur- Bottom. *********************1o) The Sulphur-Bottom after Key #3********************* Head back to the big man's office and you'll get a talk scene. Then head to the Junk Shop to find some new parts. Make sure you buy them all, since they're cheap. Also, make sure to get the Link Armor Omega. Head back to the Flutter and have Roll make a Crusher out of the Soft Ball and Taser. (If you have the Zetsabre, combine it with the Beam Blade Notes (Mechanic Notes 4) for a Blade Arm.) Save your data, and then tie up any loose end that you might have. (Ex. Fill up your canteens, upgrade your weapons, become Light MegaMan, get the Zetsabre, etc.) Continuing from the last statement, yes, there IS a method to the madness of becoming Light MegaMan. At the end of the game, the Junk Shop sells some of the best Buster parts in the game. They are also quite expensive, but they're worth it. Each Buster part will max out a single stat and two of them are the most worthwhile. However, they will cost even more of an arm and a leg if you're Dark MegaMan. So therefore, balance out your time between getting lots of money and proceeding with the game. Also, you now have some good Buster parts from the Junk Shop. Here are some Buster combos. I'll make a checklist of things you should have after the next section in the game (because there's one more item we can get, but not right now). Best Buster Combos: 1) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Autofire Unit Omega 2) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Blaster Unit Omega 3) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Accessory Pack 4) Power Blaster Omega + Range Booster Alpha + Blaster Unit Omega 5) Buster Unit Omega + Blaster Unit Omega + Rapid Fire Alpha *************************1p) Train Fight with Pirates************************ So the next destination is Calinca Island. Yup, it's the first place we visited in the game! Go there, and find Joe in the hotel. Talk to him to receive the Train Key. When you leave the room, you get a little scene. Key points to this scene are mentioned in the Story Explanations (part I). Now before you go to the train station, hop on over to the post office. Talk to the postmaster five time to receive five letters. If you didn't get five letters, you didn't give Shu the Textbook, Pencil, and Notes. The letters aren't really important, but they're fun to read. (Hey! Was the postmaster reading your mail?! He acted like it based on what he said.....) First, save your game, because there's a very long battle ahead. Switch your weapon to the Hyper Shell. Your next destination is the train station. Inspect the train car and talk to Roll. Give her the key and say you're ready to go. You'll get a nice little cut-scene. Key points are mentioned in the Story Explanations (part J). When it's over, you'll get into a very long, somewhat difficult battle. ***************************************************************************** * Gemeinshaft * ***************************************************************************** * First off, if you're into Sociology and you've played the first game, * * you'll find this name pretty funny. I'll explain why in Story * * Explanations (part J). Anyways, to start off in the battle, notice that * * your train has its own life bar. Shoot at the triple cannon and the * * bombs it shoots. You'll need your Buster gun to have a good range, or * * you won't be able to hit the guns. But to take it out easily, aim the * * Hyper Shell at each gun manually and fire whenever it pauses to reload. * * When all three guns stop smoking, the gun will blow off and the train * * will move closer. This ends the first phase of the battle. * * * * The next battle is more of the same. The guns on the top of the train * * can be destroyed, but now you can damage the train. Manually aim at the * * body of the train and fire a few Hyper Shell blasts at it. You should be * * able to take it out before the laser on the side starts to fire. If the * * laser does fire, just jump over the beam and fire away. This ends phase * * two, and you'll get a cut-scene. * * * * Now that Glyde is out of the way (Teisel: Sayonara Glyde!!! AHAHAHAHA!!), * * Switch to the Lifter. You can't shoot the train because it's too far * * away (unless you maxed out the Range of the Hyper Shell). Anyways, the * * typical, intended way to end phase three is to pick up the Servbots on * * the missiles and throw them back at the Gemeinshaft. Otherwise, just * * use the easy way and blast it with your Hyper Shell. Eventually, Tron * * will scream, and start moving the train back towards you. This ends the * * third phase. * * * * In the fourth and final phase, wait until the Gemeinshaft moves all the * * way towards you. It will be temporarily invulnerable, so shoot Buster * * gun shoots until you start doing damage. Then, blast the cannon with the * * Hyper Shell when it start firing. That way, you'll stop the cannon from * * firing and you'll do some damage in the process. To do the most damage, * * aim manually at the body, because the cannon is separate from the body * * and damaging the cannon will not damage the body. When the Gemeinshaft * * has very little life left, you'll blow off the main portion of the body. * * At this point, you've won. The Servbots on the platform at the only * * defense the Gemeinshaft has left, and they can easily be shot off the * * train with a single Buster shot. Target Bon with the Hyper Shell, lob * * off a few shots, and win the battle. (You'll probably have run out of * * weapon energy at this point. That's ok. Either use a Hyper Cartridge or * * just use your Buster gun.) * ***************************************************************************** When the battle is over, you'll be back in Yosyonke. Go straight ahead and walk along the train tracks. You'll be back in the area outside of the Calinca Mines. Look to the right for a Spike Chip inside the treasure chest. (You couldn't come here when you first started the game because the path was blocked both from the Yosyonke side and the snow field side.) Once you get the Spike Chip, go back into town, as there's nothing through the path that's straight ahead. It's just the backside of the mines, which you've had access to since the beginning of the game. Go back to the Flutter and have Roll made some Cleated Shoes out of the Spike Chip. If you haven't already done so, get the Zetsabre! It's about time to get it. If you don't have the Zenny, then just try the quiz. Anyways, make the Blade Arm out of the Zetsabre and the Beam Blade Notes (Mechanic Notes 4). Also, here's a checklist of items that you want and need: Best Buster Combos: 1) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Autofire Unit Omega 2) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Blaster Unit Omega 3) Power Blaster Omega + Buster Unit Omega + Accessory Pack 4) Power Blaster Omega + Range Booster Alpha + Blaster Unit Omega 5) Buster Unit Omega + Blaster Unit Omega + Rapid Fire Alpha Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 30-40+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 20+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Flame Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class S License [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Spike Chip (Cleated Shoes) [Snowfield treasure box] 1 Resistor Chip (Asbestos Shoes) [Junk Shop] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Link Armor Omega [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] Light MegaMan 1 Shielding Notes (Mechanic Notes 5) [Kimotoma Ruins] 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Maxed out) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 40+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] More than 20 Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] 1 Padded Helmet [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] 1 Homing Missile (Upgraded as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Maxed out) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out) 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Reflector Arm (Maxed out) 1 Spread Buster (Maxed out) 1 Hunter Seeker (Maxed out, preferably) 1 Crusher (Upgraded as best you can) (Taser [Shady Trader] + Soft Ball [Kimotoma Ruins]) 1 Blade Arm (Zetsabre [Pokte Mayor] + Beam Blade Notes (Mechanic Notes 4) [Kimotoma Ruins]) ******************************1q) Yosyonke Ruins***************************** Once you've gotten everything you need and want, go to the church in Yosyonke. The church is north of the town. Data is here, so save your game. (Also, make sure you have the Hyper Shell equipped. You'll want a long- ranged attack against the boss.) Now that you're at the church, go down the elevator and head to the end of the room. Open the treasure chest for 8,000 Zenny. Then, use the L2 button to look down at the ice. Shoot at the ice with your Buster gun and fall through. Go through the door. (BTW, this is a good time to equip the Cleated Shoes.) Go through this room to the next room, and you'll be in a big square room. Ignore the Reaverbots below, and instead, look to your right for a red platform. Jump up there and hurry across to the next platform. I say hurry because the red platforms will break if you stand on them too long. Go through the first door you come to. Open the treasure chest inside for a Laser Manual. The Reaverbots behind you will break out of their ice and then try to walk into you. While they really can't hurt you, if you touch them, you'll be afflicted with frostbite. That means your energy will slowly be drained while the status is active. Anyways, head outside once you finish them off. In this room, fall down to the main floor and go to the east end of the floor. Jump up to the ledge and go east through the door. Download the item data, and then go back one room and head south. In this next room, head east and then head south at the intersection. Go east at yet another intersection to find a chest with 30,000 Zenny. Head back to the previous intersection, backtrack north, and go west at this intersection. It looks like a dead-end, but use L2 to look up, shoot the ceiling, and jump up to the area above. When you're up here, shoot at the rotating ice, and make a mad dash across the red platforms, shooting the next rotating ice as you go. In the next room, grab the Blue Barrier Key and go back one room. After going back one room, make it back to the room to the north, where there are mammoths and the girly Reaverbots. Jump up onto the ledge in the northwest, and then move along the red platforms like before. Keep going up and keep following the red platforms until you reach the door in the northeast. Activate the blue panel now that you have the Blue Barrier Key. Head back into the room with the big blue barrier. (This is the room where you got the Blue Barrier Key.) Fall through the floor (which you just created), kill the Reaverbots, and go into the next room. Use the elevator to go down to B2. In this next room, either fall through the red panels or make it to the end of the passageway. Either way, you'll want to keep going north into the next room. Shoot through the ceiling and go into the next room. In this room, you'll be on a ledge and there are two Shurakurusus. Kill them by staying on the corner of the ledge and shooting down. (Lock on for best results.) Then, head northeast to find two doors: one above you to the north, and one on the same level to the east. Go through the door to the east to download the map data, then go through the door to the north, which is on the ledge. This next room consists of three walls that are made of ice and a long hallway. Shoot through the first two walls, kill the reavers, and shoot through the third wall. Kill the purple orb and go through the door to the next room. In here, open the treasure chest for 10,000 Zenny, kill the Reaverbots that just broke out of their ice capsules, shoot the ceiling and go to the next room. The next room is another long hallway. Fight your way through, and at the end, there are two doors. Go east to find a treasure chest with a Red Barrier Key, then go back one room and go through the north door. Now, it's your choice on what you want to do. Both choices give you the same result, although one will net you an item at the same time. The first choice is to jump across the pillars until you ultimately reach the door high up on the northwest end of the floor. In this room is an elevator that leads to B4. The other takes a little doing, but you'll get an item in the process. If you choose the second choice, follow this paragraph. Otherwise, skip to the next paragraph. Go all the way back towards the entrance to the room where you used the Blue Barrier Key. Check your map for a room on B1 with five doors. The door you want is the one in the northeast, where you have to rush along the red platforms. Deactivate the red barriers using the Red Barrier Key, which you just got on B2. Jump down the hole, and you'll be back in the room with the two Shurakurusus. Now that the red barrier is gone, go through the hole in the north to fall into the only room in B3. Grab the Shield Generator inside the treasure chest. Shoot the floor and go down to B4. Now that you're in B4, there's a little puzzle to be solved. Inside the big room are three Reaverbots, three locked doors, and three holes in the floor. To solve the puzzle, you'll need to obviously use your head, but also you need to use the Reaverbots. Stand a few steps away from a hole, and position yourself so that a mammoth will run straight at you. Now jump over the hole and the Reaverbot should follow you and fall into the hole. This will cause a door to be unlocked. Do this two more times, and all the doors will be unlocked. First, go north and grab the 50,000 Zenny inside. Now go back and through the east door for a room with some reavers and a room with a Turbo Charger Omega. Now go back to the big room and go east through the door. Here you'll find the Magical Monkey: Data. Heal and save, and go down the elevator to B5. Downstairs, you'll be in probably the biggest room in the game. You'll also get a small cut-scene where three Reaverbots run away from you. These three Reaverbots are the key to proceeding through the door to the south - literally. Since the room is filled with sand, you won't risk slipping and sliding all around, so equip your Jet Skates. Then, head toward the center of the room and kill the HUGE Reaverbot there. Next, look for one of the Reaverbots that ran away from you when you entered. (You can spot them by their bright red eyes.) Jet Skate over to one and shoot at it repeatedly. What you need to do is to knock over the Reaverbot until you can close enough to pick it up. Keep shooting and chasing and eventually you'll be run up next to it. Press Circle when you're next to it, and you'll pick it up. Repeat this process until you have all three keys. Then, go back to Data, heal, save, and go through the door to the south. Now that you're here, you'll notice a big eye moving around the room. It won't attack you, and attacking it won't do anything, so proceed into the next room. Here, you'll want to equip the Asbestos Shoes (yes, the Asbestos Shoes - you'll see why in a bit). Then, grab the fourth Mother Load Key. But no boss? Well, I think you figured it out by now, but the eye in the previous room is going to attack you one the way out. Make sure the Asbestos Shoes are equipped, because you'll need them. It's boss time! ***************************************************************************** * Reaverbot Eye * ***************************************************************************** * On your way out of the Yosyonke Ruins, the Reaverbot eye that you saw * * earlier goes into attack mode. He's probably the hardest Reaverbot boss * * you've fought so far, but if you brought the Hyper Shell along, he's a * * piece of cake. * * * * Now, before you start the battle, you should notice that he stretches up * * and flattens the ooze so it spreads around the arena. This is one of his * * attacks, so remember it. Now, once the battle starts, he'll chase you * * around for a bit. Shoot it with your Buster whenever there's an opening, * * and eventually he'll stop and head for the center of the arena. This is * * where he does that flatten move. Get back as far as you (go in the door * * area) and wait for the attack to finish, since he's invulnerable at the * * time. Now that you're far enough away, blast him with the Hyper Shell * * when he starts chasing you again. You should damage him enough to start * * the next phase. * * * * Look at the corners and you should notice that platforms have formed in * * them. Jump on the platforms and jump up to the even higher platform * * there. Now wait for the eye to rise up to your height. Although you're * * slipping and sliding on the platform, DO NOT equip the Cleated Shoes. * * Keep the Asbestos Shoes equipped in the case that he shoot goo at you and * * knocks you off the platform. Let me tell you, standing in on the floor * * at this time can HURT unless you have the Asbestos Shoes equipped. Try * * to stay on the platform, and shoot the eye as much as you can. * * * * Eventually, the platforms will fade and the floor will no longer damage * * you. (If you fell off, use the Medicine Bottle to remove the frostbite * * status.) The eye will start chasing you again, and repeat his patterns. * * When his life gets down to about an eighth, he'll start chasing you * * faster than before, and becomes invulnerable. At this time, get rid of * * your lock-on and run like mad. The best way is to hold up and use L1 and * * R1 to turn. Run around in circles until you hear him slow down, and then * * begin your assault again. With a little more, he'll be out for the * * count. * ***************************************************************************** Once you beat the boss, you'll automatically be transported out of the ruins. Data's still in the church, so save your game. Head back to the Flutter, and have Roll make the Shield Arm out of the Shield Generator and Shielding Notes (Mechanic Notes 5). That is, if you got the Shield Generator like I recommended. When you're ready, head back to the Sulphur-Bottom, where all four keys have been assembled. ***************************1r) The Greatest Battle*************************** Why the name in the section title? Well, up ahead is probably the greatest battle in all video game history. To this day, I still get goose bumps when play it through. And it's not just the battle. It's also the immense amount of story both before and after the fight. The thrills and chills of this battle is probably one of the big reasons why I still love this game, even after 13 play-throughs. Before we get into the battle, I recommend saving at the docks. Tie up any loose ends beforehand (upgrades, shopping, etc.) and head into Von Blucher's office. A cut-scene ensues (watch it carefully and love it!) and then you get to fight.... Geetz?! Well, thanks for nothing.... (BTW, I will cover the cut-scene before the fight in Story Explanations (part K). There are a lot of key concepts within the scenes before and after the Geetz battle, so I had to break it up into two parts!) ***************************************************************************** * The Greatest Battle: A Fight with Geetz * ***************************************************************************** * The battle itself is not too hard. The only thing you have to remember * * is that Geetz cannot be hit when he's flying around in the distance. * * However, when he stops and flies towards you, this is your time to * * attack. To make it easy, shoot him with the Hyper Shell. For a fun * * battle, use the Blade Arm. Note that you can't hit him with the Blade * * Arm until he's down to 1/4 of his life bar except when he flies low. * * * * After you've taken down Geetz's life bar to half, he shoots down the * * Bonnes. How horrible! This is your time to get angry and blast him as * * much as you can. When he gets down to 1/4 of his life bar, he'll be * * injured and land on the ship. At this time, blast him away with * * everything you've got. (It's really fun to kill him with the Blade Arm. * * Slice!) * * * * Also, the best part of this battle is having the Bonnes cheer you on. * * There's some very funny and very cool lines that get exchanged by * * everyone on the battlefield. Geetz likes to taunt you. Bon screams * * "BABUUUUUUU!!!" Teisel yells "If you win, I'll.... buy you dinner!" and * * "Oh, they make a good couple!" Tron just cheers you on with generic * * lines like "Don't you quit on me now, MegaMan. If you lose, you'll have * * to answer to me!" and "Wow, his best weapons aren't even scratching him!" * * Geetz says "Is that the best you can do, Purifier?" and "You * * miscalculated." Truly, it is a great battle. Whenever I play Legends 2, * * I play this battle over and over, because it's so much fun! * ***************************************************************************** When you kill Geetz, you'll get a very long, very cool cut-scene. Key points are mentioned in Story Explanations (part L). When you're done, you'll be back in the Flutter. Heal, save (or reset and play the battle over again), and then head to Calbania Island. ***********************1s) Elysium and the Defense Area********************** The first thing you want to do after the Geetz battle is go straight to Calbanina Island and go to Elysium. There's one item we need that's right inside the entrance. Preparations can be made after you get it. Once you are at Calbania Island, you'll be at Glyde's base. Straight ahead is Yuna/Matilda and a shuttle that will send you to Elysium. Talk to Yuna and say you're ready to go. You'll get a cut-scene, and then you'll be inside Elysium's docks. Go northeast and open the treasure chest here for a Green Eye. This is the last part for a weapon, and at this point, you should have every special weapon in the game (once you put the parts together). From here, talk to Data and Yuna for some information on MegaMan's past. Key points are listed in the Story Explanations (part M). Now, talk to Yuna and head back to Terra. We can now get some of the best items in the game. And they're Buster parts and armor! Once you're back at Terra, have Roll make the Shining Laser out of the Green Eye and Laser Manual (Mechanic Notes 5). This is the best weapon in the game, but it costs an arm and a leg to upgrade it fully. Next, save up some money, because you'll want several hundreds of thousands of Zenny to buy some of the best Buster parts in the game. The three that you'll want the most are the Power Raiser Omega, Upgrade Pack Omega, and the Rapid Fire Omega. Also, buy the Kevlar Armor Omega with any left over Zenny. With these items, you are now the ultimate MegaMan! (That is, before special weapons. Here's the Ultimate Buster Combo and a checklist for what you'll want. Ultimate Buster Como: 1) Power Raiser Omega + Rapid Fire Omega + Upgrade Pack Omega Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 40+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 20+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Flame Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class S License [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Kevlar Armor Omega [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] Light MegaMan 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Maxed out) 1 Homing Missile (Upgraded as best as you can) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Maxed out) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out) 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Reflector Arm (Maxed out) 1 Spread Buster (Maxed out) 1 Hunter Seeker (Maxed out, preferably) 1 Crusher (Upgraded as best you can) 1 Blade Arm (Maxed out) 1 Shield Arm (Maxed out) (Shielding Notes (Mechanic Notes 5) [Kimotoma Ruins] + Sheild Generator [Yosyonke Ruins]) 1 Shining Laser (Upgraded as best you can) (Green Eye [Elysium] + Laser Manual [Yosyonke Ruins]) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 99 Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 99 Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] 1 Padded Helmet [Junk Shop] 1 Spike Chip (Cleated Shoes) [Snowfield treasure box] 1 Resistor Chip (Asbestos Shoes) [Junk Shop] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] When you're ready, head back to Elysium and go south to the elevator. Now you're inside the Defense Area. Proceed through the hallway and into a circular room. In the next room is a gravity field that increases gravity. Walk through it, and you'll notice that MegaMan movements and jumping height are decreased. Now go back into the circular room. Once you're inside the circular room, stand in the middle on the white squares. Since you increased the gravity in the previous room, the floor will crack and you will fall through. Down here are two treasure chests with an Energizer Pack Omega and 40,000 Zenny. Next, look for a control panel and at the very least, decrease the gravity. You can now jump higher, and you'll be able to jump out of the pit. Head back through the door you came and go through the hallway with the gravity field. In the next room there are TONS of traps. There are floor traps (that you found in Kimotoma) and status traps. Basically, you need to kill all of the Reaverbots to unlock the doors, but stay along the outer edge behind the line that circles the room. That way, you'll avoid all of those floor traps and you can reach the doors. In this room, the status traps afflict you with numbness, but since you have the Light Barrier, you can just jump up and you won't have the numbness any more. There are two doors that you haven't been through - the east and west doors. The east door has a control panel, but you really don't need to use it unless you feel like lowering the gravity again. The west door is the way forward. In this room, you'll find it's very similar to the last. Avoid the status traps as they afflict you with the energy drain status. If you get hit with the status, switch off you weapon to the Lifter so you don't lose all of your weapon energy. Head through the door to the south. In this room there's another gravity field and a door to the east. This hallway has four doors. The first door you want to go through is the one in the east. In this room, there are two reavers that take a lot to kill. But if you've got the ultimate Buster combo mentioned above, you should be fine. Head east into the next room, download the item data, and lower the gravity. Next, go into the room to the south of the circular hallway. In this hallway, follow the path the east and go through the door. There are two bright glass walls in this room that enclose one square on the map. Jump inside the western one to find a treasure chest with a Booster Pack Omega. Continue through the door to the west if you want more info about Elysium. Otherwise, head back east into the hallway with four doors. Head east until you reach the northern door and go in. (If you head west, you'll go through another gravity field, which you don't want to go through.) Continue to follow the hallway until you reach an elevator. Go up to the next floor and head south through the door. You'll be in another trap room, this time with fire status traps. You know how to get though here. Go south through the door and you'll be in another circular hallway. There is only one way forward this time, so head west. In the next room, head west. Now, this room is also a good place to make Zenny, but it's not the best place. The trick to making Zenny is to have the Vacuum Arm and the Flame Barrier. Stand in the center of the room and tape the Triangle button down. The little Reaverbots will try to ram you and get hurt instead of hurt you. They will then self-destruct because they hit you so many times. The only time you will take damage is when all four of them ram you at once, and you get knocked over. While the golden bird takes a little effort, this method takes no effort. You could simply leave the game on for a couple hours and make some Zenny without even trying. Anyways, west of this room there's a treasure chest with a Sniper Unit Omega. Next, go back to the last intersection and go north. In here, you'll come across a locked door and a regular door to the west. Go in the west door, kill two more of those big Reaverbots, and go back into the previous room. The locked door to the north is now open, so walk through it and continue on. Go through another room with a gravity field and go west. There's another room where you can fall through the floor. Do so, and then pick up the 36,000 Zenny in the chest. Decrease the gravity, jump up, and go north. Up ahead are two more of those Reaverbots. Kill them, and go east. In this next room, jump over the wall and open the treasure chest for 10,000 Zenny. Continue east so you can download the map data, and then head back to the room with the breakable floors. Now head west, though another gravity field, and west through the door. In the next hallway, go east at the first door you see. Go east into the next room and you'll find a treasure chest with a Giant Refractor. You'll get to use this later to create a shortcut back to the docks. Go back to the north- south hallway, head south, and take the elevator up. You are now in the Side Area AKA Residential District. Next, head east and you should see a rainbow-colored wall. Walk through this portal like you would any other door, and then head south through another portal. In this area, there's a treasure chest with an Accessory Pack Alpha. Now take the portals in this order: north, west, north, north, east, east, south, and east. In this area, look for a treasure with 60,000 Zenny. Now go west twice to reach The Master's house. Head to the north of the area to find an elevator. If you picked up the Giant Refractor earlier, you will automatically insert it into the elevator. However, you don't need to go down the elevator. If you did, you'd just go back to the Shuttle Bay, which is where we first came in. Instead, go to the center of the area and go into the big house there. This is The Master's room complete with an elevator that leads to the Mother Area. You can head in a kill some enemies in there before you fight the final boss. ***********************1t) Elysium and the Mother Area*********************** Have Data save your game, and then take the elevator to the Mother Area. Basically, like most MegaMan games, you'll end up fighting all of the bosses in the game. I'm not going to give strategies since you've fought them before. Naturally, you won't find the pirates here, so it's just plain Reaverbot boss battles. The first boss you'll fight is the giant frog you fought in Manda. Then, in the next room there's a treasure chest with 100,000 Zenny. The next boss fight is with the Reaverbot eye that you fought in Yosyonke. The third boss is the jellyfish trio. In the next room, you'll get 150,000 Zenny from the treasure chest. The last boss you'll fight is the giant Reaverbot from Kimotoma. At this point, you have two choices: proceed or power up. If you choose to power up, here's one last checklist: Ultimate Buster Como: 1) Power Raiser Omega + Rapid Fire Omega + Upgrade Pack Omega Things you'll need: 10 Bionic Parts 40+ Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 20+ Medicine Bottle Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Light Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Flame Barrier [Junk Shop] 1 Adapter Plug (Joint Plug) [Junk Shop] 1 Class S License [Guild or Yosyonke Gallery] 1 Hyper Cartridge [Junk Shop] 1 Kevlar Armor Omega [Junk Shop] All Buster parts that can be bought [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] Light MegaMan 1 Buster Cannon (Maxed out) 1 Hyper Shell (Maxed out) 1 Homing Missile (Maxed out) 1 Vacuum Arm (Maxed out) 1 Machine Gun Arm (Maxed out) 1 Ground Crawler (Maxed out) 1 Drill Arm (Maxed out) 1 Reflector Arm (Maxed out) 1 Spread Buster (Maxed out) 1 Hunter Seeker (Maxed out) 1 Crusher (Upgraded as best you can) 1 Blade Arm (Maxed out) 1 Shield Arm (Maxed out) 1 Shining Laser (Maxed out) Things you'll want but don't need right now: 99 Energy Canteen Packs [Junk Shop] 99 Medicine Packs [Junk Shop] 1 Normal Helmet [Manda main ruins] 1 Padded Helmet [Junk Shop] 1 Spike Chip (Cleated Shoes) [Snowfield treasure box] 1 Resistor Chip (Asbestos Shoes) [Junk Shop] 1 Aqua Chip (Hydrojets) [Junk Shop] All armor that can be bought [Junk Shop] All of the items from the General Store [General Store] All of the Pokte quiz items [Pokte Village] (Note that I said you should max out all of your special weapons. If you want to max them out, it'll take a lot of Zenny, especially for the Shining Laser. If all else fails and you get too bored with making Zenny, just use a cheat device. The Shining Laser alone should cost more that 15,000,000 Zenny, which is a little extreme.) (Also, for a special weapon, you can't get a better weapon than the Shining Laser. Other weapons can be used, like the Hyper Shell, Homing Missile, and Buster Cannon, but none will do as much damage as a maxed out Shining Laser. Also, refrain from using the Blade Arm because the final boss can barely be hit with it.) When you're ready, go back to Elysium and all the way in until you find a room with Data. (If you're not there already, that is.) Behind the final door is the final boss fight in the game. There's a cut-scene (with important points in the Story Explanations, part N), and then you get to fight.... Sera. ***************************************************************************** * Sera: Phase One * ***************************************************************************** * Ok, you knew you were going to fight her, right? Sera is definitely the * * toughest boss in the game, and for a good reason, too. She's the final * * boss! In her first form, she has several attacks. The yellow energy * * blasts are hard to avoid, but jumping sideways is the best evasion * * technique. You'll have to jump several times, because she'll shoot it * * several times in a row. The next most likely attack is where she glows * * red and charges you. Just jump sideways to avoid it. Another attack is * * where she creates energy lances that explode when the hit the ground. * * Like other attacks, jump sideways to avoid the attack. The biggest * * attack that Sera has is the gravity well + ground pound + homing bomb * * attack. The entire room should glow red, MegaMan's jumping is then * * severely limited, and then she creates a shockwave by pounding the * * ground. Wait until you see the shockwave come right up to you and jump * * or tumble dodge at the last second. Then, lock-on to the bombs she * * created to shoot and destroy them. She'll probably keep doing this * * several times before she switches to another attack. Keep an eye on your * * life and if you get low, use an Energy Canteen, Picnic Lunch, Fried * * Chicken, or one of the Pokte quiz items to restore your health. With * * luck and skill, you should defeat her without using them very often. * ***************************************************************************** You'll get another cut-scene, and then you get to fight Sera a second time. It's a typical fight-two-final-bosses game, so that means you only have to kill her one more time! ***************************************************************************** * Sera: Phase Two * ***************************************************************************** * Hey, Sera! How'd you get so big?! Anyways, now that you're in the * * final, final battle, Sera ditched the speed for powerful attacks. The * * first attack she'll probably use is when she flies over you, says "Got * * you!", and shoots lasers from the red things underneath her. Don't lock * * on until you get away from the lasers, fall back, and shoot her when you * * get far away. The next attack, which is her biggest, is a laser that * * sweeps the floor from her chest. This attack can put you in the red, and * * if you were jumping at the same time, you could hit your head and get * * killed, all in one attack! To avoid it, stay on the ground and tumble * * roll. (You are invincible while you tumble roll.) The third attack is * * simply a dash attack where she tries to run over you. Just tumble roll * * to avoid it. The fourth attack is another big one that's very hard to * * dodge. Sera will slam her hands down on the floor, creating purple * * shockwaves that are hard to dodge. Tumble roll if you see this attack * * coming, otherwise, you'll probably get hit with it. * * * * Also, Sera uses a gravity well attack later on in the battle. This makes * * it easier to get hit by other attacks, but it doesn't do any damage. * * Also, her last "ultimate" attack is a meteor rain-type move. Just run * * like mad without locking on and you should avoid it fairly easy. Just * * keep on focusing your best attacks on her whenever you can. If you've * * got a weapon that stops MegaMan's movements for a second, use them only * * when you know you can get a hit in without getting hit yourself. Keep * * on the heat and watch you life bar to win. * ***************************************************************************** You get a cut-scene, then the credits roll, then another cut-scene. Congratulations, you beat MegaMan Legends 2! Now save the game after you beat it in order to be able to play Easy Mode, Hard Mode, and Very Hard Mode! (BTW, key points in the ending are listed in the Story Explanations, part O.) ***************************************************************************** **********************************2) Bosses********************************** ***************************************************************************** So, if you need help bosses, come here. Basically, it's just the same information in the walkthrough. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Giant Mammoth * ***************************************************************************** * The guy is quite large, and can take up the entire screen if you get * * close. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Tron's Crabby Robot * ***************************************************************************** * The usual way to win the battle is to circle and shoot. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Bola: Round 1 * ***************************************************************************** * This is a very simple, easy battle. Bola starts out by dropping frogs on * * you which you can easily kill. He then teleports into the middle of the * * arena. From here, just circle and shoot. Easy win. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Bola: Round 2 * ***************************************************************************** * This is the final fight with Bola, and it's only mildly harder. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Giant Frog * ***************************************************************************** * After a short talk sequence with Bola, you get to fight a giant frog! * * Uh... * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Birdbot Carrier * ***************************************************************************** * This boss is a cinch. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Birdbot Glider * ***************************************************************************** * Pretty easy. Just switch back to the Buster Cannon and let it rip. * * Just make sure to dodge its ramming attack and you should do fine. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Jellyfish Trio: Air * ***************************************************************************** * Get used to fighting these guys. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore: Round 1 * ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore is probably the easiest boss around. Just take your Drill Arm * * and kill him with it. He'll be over in a matter of seconds. If you * * don't have the Drill Arm, just circle and shoot, jumping to avoid his * * attacks. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Klaymoore: Round 2 * ***************************************************************************** * This is the same story as the first fight. Just nail him with the Drill * * Arm and the battle will be over before you know it. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Jellyfish Trio: Water * ***************************************************************************** * Even though there's three of them, they're easy enough to kill. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Bonne Cannon * ***************************************************************************** * Well, it's not REALLY a boss fight, but he does have a boss life bar. Go * * forward and shoot the small cannons in front of you. Then, jump over the * * fence and circle the cannon so you're behind it. Shoot your Buster gun * * until it dies. (It can't shoot you when you're behind it.) * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Blitzkreig * ***************************************************************************** * This fight is both easy and hard at the same time. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Giant Rock?! You'll get your chance later. ;) * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Giant Reaverbot * ***************************************************************************** * This guy is actually pretty simple, but he has some strong attacks. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Gustaff * ***************************************************************************** * If you've played The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, you'll recognize this * * robot as a modified version of the Gustaff! * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Bon Bonne * ***************************************************************************** * Easy, easy, easy. Just nail him with a couple of Hyper Shell shots and * * he's dead in no time. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Gemeinshaft * ***************************************************************************** * First off, if you're into Sociology and you've played the first game, * * you'll find this name pretty funny. That's ok. Either use a Hyper Cartridge or * * just use your Buster gun.) * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Reaverbot Eye * ***************************************************************************** * On your way out of the Yosyonke Ruins, the Reaverbot eye that you saw * * earlier goes into attack mode. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * The Greatest Battle: A Fight with Geetz * ***************************************************************************** * The battle itself is not too hard. * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Sera: Phase One * ***************************************************************************** * Ok, you knew you were going to fight her, right? * ***************************************************************************** ***************************************************************************** * Sera: Phase Two * ***************************************************************************** * Hey, Sera! * ***************************************************************************** So that's it. Most of the bosses are easy with these strategies. ***************************************************************************** ********************************3) Side-Quests******************************* ***************************************************************************** ***Manda Sub-Ruins*** Go south from the Flutter into the ruins. ***Nino Guild Ruins*** Once in Nino, head down the elevator and look for a door on the same wall as the elevator. ***Calbania Sub-Ruins*** (Note: I don't think you can go in if you don't have a Class A license.) In the big area in Calbanina, there are some ruins in the northwest. Once inside, go south and east through the door. Go north for a Rusty Bazooka and then go back to the intersection and go south, as there's nothing to the east. ***Saul Kada Sub-Ruins*** (Note: You cannot enter these ruins unless you have an S Class License.) These ruins are in the southwest part of the Sual Kada desert. In the walkthrough, I gave you a few combos, and combo #1 seems to work quite well. Once you're finished, head north through the door and pick up the Refractor S. This can be sold or kept if you're an item collector. ***Letters*** After you've come back to Calinca Island, visit the Post Office. If you gave Shu the Pencil, Textbook, and Notes, you'll get five letters total. If you didn't, you'll only get two. The letters are just fun to read and have no real purpose in the game. ***************************************************************************** **********************************4) Items*********************************** ***************************************************************************** ******************************A) Buster Parts******************************** Part: Power Raiser Stats: Attack + 2 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Rapid Fire Stats: Rapid + 2 Where to find: Flutter Development Room Part: Turbo Charger Stats: Energy + 2 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Range Booster Stats: Range + 2 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Buster Unit Stats: Attack + 1, Range + 2 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Blaster Unit Stats: Attack + 1, Energy + 2 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Autofire Unit Stats: Energy + 2, Rapid + 1 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Upgrade Pack Stats: Attack + 1, Energy + 1, Range + 1 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Booster Pack Stats: Attack + 1, Energy + 1, Rapid + 1 Where to find: Junk Shop Part: Energizer Pack Stats: Energy + 1, Range + 1, Rapid + 1 Where to find: Pokte Mayor (First quiz) Part: Accessory Pack Stats: All stats + 1 Where to find: Glyde's Base (Limited time only!) In the first room, make sure there's a Mimic and nothing else. (A Mimic is a trapped treasure box.) That means there are no frogs and no shield bots. Otherwise, this trick will not work! Exit and reenter the ruins until you get a Mimic. Once you have a Mimic on the first screen, go through the ruins and go east at the first intersection. In the next room, go east to the hallway and west at the intersection. He can disappear, and you have to try to kill him all over again. Keep killing this guy over and over to make TONS and TONS of Zenny! (NOTE: He takes a lot of hits to kill. To easily kill him, shoot him until he falls over. Quickly run over to him and pick him up. Throw him anywhere and one more Buster shot will instantly kill him!) The other way to make money is to proceed through the entire game until you reach Elysium. Go to the room with four of those flying reavers that drop the little flaming Zakobons. This room is also a good place to make Zenny, but it's not the best place. ***************************************************************************** ***************6) Story Explanations and Theories (SPOILERS!)**************** ***************************************************************************** A) In the Beginning, Roll and MegaMan Talked..... Some key points of the first intro scene are listed here. First of all, MegaMan doesn't know very well on how to fly the Flutter. If you played the first game, you'll know that MegaMan is pretty dumb (he can barely read!). Second Data can't cook, as why the Flutter was set on fire when he went into the kitchen. ("I was just trying to cook pizza!") Third, Roll sold all of MegaMan's weapons to be able to afford a new engine for the Flutter. It was just a convenient plot device to start the game at ground zero. And if you played the first game, you'll know that the engine did have some trouble, and was the whole reason the first game took place. B) The First Encounter with Joe When you first meet Joe, Roll says she feels like she knows him for some reason. Also, if you go into the bar just after the scene, talk to the bartender twice. She says he showed up here 10 years ago. More on this later. C) The Story of the Goddesses In Yosyonke, there's a lady by the big statue. She talks about the goddess of the earth and heavens. Now here's a spoiler for the end of the game, so read the next paragraph if you want spoilers. The "goddesses" are Sera and Yuna. Sera is the goddess of the heavens, Yuna is the goddess of the earth. The legend the lady also gives is that when "the goddess of the heavens raises her voice, all shall end, and all shall begin." This is referring to the Carbon Reinitialization Program, which kills all of the people living on the earth, and replaces the Carbons (the humans you meet and talk to), with the True Humans (the Ancients, who are people like The Master). Don't know who Yuna, Sera, and The Master are? Play through the majority of the game to find out. D) The Origin of MegaMan In Gramps's books, you'll find that Gramps found MegaMan inside of the Nino Ruins. He was located inside of a diamond, which, if you've played through Forbidden Island, is the same diamond that enclosed Sera. Also, Nino is a place that you can actually go to in the game. You'll be able to go there at about halfway through the game, and to those very same ruins shortly afterwards. E) Forbidden Island, Info on the Mistresses During your trip to Forbidden Island, you'll find some humans in blue spheres. In the same area, you'll find a girl inside a dropship. This girl is actually Mistress Yuna. Mistress Yuna was the one who put the people in the spheres. After you beat the Mammoth, Gatz, the guy next to Matilda, calls Yuna Mistress Yuna? Why is that? You'll find out later. Also, during that long cut-scene, Mistress Sera is awakened. Beside her is Geetz. Mistress Sera and Mistress Yuna both talk about the Keys to the Library. (Now this'll get confusing, here.) They also talk about The Master's genetic code, a Purifier Model, and the Purifier Model being an Aberrant. It's a Purifier's job to hunt down any Aberrant unit, but somehow, this Purifier Model became an Aberrant himself. This Aberrant model was also close to The Master, and has his genetic code. Confusing and cryptic, eh? More on this later. Also, there's talk of the Master System. Very little is known about it at this point in the game. What we DO know, is that there's a relation to someone called The Master, and that Yuna and Sera know about it. Also, there's mention of the Carbons, which The Master loved. Yuna speculates that The Master loved the Carbons more than the Master System. But it's still unknown at this point which way is true. In the Sulphur-Bottom, there are very few important points made in the scenes with Barrel and Von Blucher. However, the scene with the pirates brings an important point or two. Klaymoore, the big guy with the mask, has only one partner, and his name is Bola. Glyde is similar to the Bonnes, because he has an army of minions. Just as the Bonnes have Servbots, so too, does Glyde have minions. It's a little bit of foreshadowing at this point. F) Gramps and Von Blucher in the Sulphur-Bottom After the cut-scenes at Forbidden Island, you get to talk to Barrel and Von Blucher about some things in the past. The main points here are the following: a girl in pigtails saved Von Blucher and Barrel many years ago and Roll's parents' names are Banner and Matilda. Banner and Matilda journeyed to Forbidden Island 10 years ago, and disappeared since then. Another item of note is when you ask Gramps about the Ancients. Gramps suspects that someone trapped Sera and Geetz, in the diamond. Yes, this is the same kind of diamond that MegaMan was trapped in. Also, Gramps suspects that the person who attacked the Sulphur-Bottom was the one behind it. That means Matilda, or is it? G) Key points on the Battle with Tron in Pokte Village There's nothing of great significance here, but Tron is still showing her love for MegaMan, except in the battle. Also, Tron makes some important points. Do upgrades really cost THAT much? Isn't Roll being mean for making MegaMan do the digs and not her? Indeed, there's lots of stuff here that Tron fans use to bash Roll. Also, after you beat Tron, you can get a letter in Yosyonke from Servbot #20. He asks MegaMan if he wants to become Servbot #42. So what happened to #41? It seems that Tron made another Servbot in between Legends 1 and Legends 2. H) Summary on Bola, Klaymoore, and Glyde After you fight all of these guys, I decided that I'd give you a little background on them. First off, if you've played The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, you'll know that Glyde is a pain in the ass. He's conceited, selfish, and has very annoying minions. As for Bola and Klaymoore, they're two new characters in the series. Klaymoore talks both like an old man and he talks in cheap cliches. He also has back problems and is way too serious for his own good. As for Bola, he's the total opposite of his partner. He's laid back and talks with slang. He wants to retire early while Klaymoore wants to keep working to find the Mother Load. I) The Final Talk with Joe I don't know if you figured this out yet, but Joe is really Roll's father. Yup, his real name is Banner and he journey to the Forbidden Island with Matilda ten years ago. If you read the Story Explanations, part B, you can gather clues there, and put them together after this talk. What Joe says and what he has leads you to this conclusion. Why would he have a dropship diagram? He's Banner. Why would he have the picture of Roll's family? He's Banner. Why does he know that Roll and MegaMan are always going to do great things, and that he just gives Roll and MegaMan the dropship? He's Banner, and he's just passing things down in the family. Why did he wake up ten years ago on Calinca Island after he journeyed to Forbidden Island? He's Banner. Get the picture? Now, there's more to read into Banner's character. He always gets these feelings, like he just knows that things will happen like they should. Why is that? Why, it's just his natural Digger's instinct. He was supposedly one of the best Diggers of his time, so naturally, he's very instinctive. Also, I have reason to believe that he does not have amnesia and that he never had it. Why is that? It's just my belief, based on when he talked to himself, that he knows that Roll and MegaMan should be together. He talked to the picture like he was talking to his daughter, and he showed no signs of confusion when he said it. Also, how would you feel if you were the cause of your wife's death? He didn't know it at the time, but ten years ago when he woke up on at Yosyonke without his wife, he probably believed that she was dead. When in fact, Matilda was still alive, and, well.... that's for the next section. The important point here is that he feels he failed his family, and used the amnesia story to cover up his grief. Therefore, he pretended that he had amnesia so he could start a new life. Still not convinced? Well, if you talk to him after you beat the Gemeinshaft, he'll say something rather interesting. He says that he has to stop living in the past and live in the here-and-now. If that doesn't tell you anything, then think about this. He's spent the last ten years of his life living in the past and trying to go back to Forbidden Island. Why is that? He wants to see what happened to his wife, Matilda. He wanted to double-check to see if she was still alive! And also, since she didn't return when the rest of the townspeople DID return, he believes her dead. So now, he's going to live the rest of his life with the bartender lady. J) The Final Fight with Pirates: About the Gemeinshaft In the cut-scene before the Gemeinshaft battle, Tron mentions something very interesting, that might foreshadow into the next game. She say something along the lines of "We have to ally ourselves with people like that (Glyde, Klaymoore, Bola), we have to scrounge for parts to build our machines..... We'll never make it this way." Now, this is a theory of mine, but I feel that the Bonnes will give up the pirating business. To take my theory even farther, I feel that the Casketts are going to have to take the Bonnes in under their wing. (That's IF MegaMan ever.... makes it back home after you beat the game. More on this later.) Also, I mentioned something in the walkthrough about a funny thing. If you take a formal Sociology class, you'll find that Gesellshaft and Gemeinshaft have special meanings in Sociology. A "Gesellshaft" is a society that's rich, has people that are more detached from each other, and is quite modern. Think of countries such as the US, Japan, and European countries. A "Gemeinshaft" is a society where people are generally poor, have close-knit families, and are usually rural. Think of the tribes in Africa as an example. Why is this funny? Well, when the Gesellshaft was still around, the Bonnes were rich, everyone had their own room, and the Gesellshaft was a great, giant mechanical marvel. When the Bonnes had the Gemeinshaft, they were poor, they probably lived close to each other (in a scant few Draches, probably), and they had to use whatever they could find to build their machines. Primarily, I feel that Capcom is poking fun at the Bonnes, but also, it might involve part of my theory where the Bonnes have to live with someone else. They might live with the Casketts, they might live with Von Blucher, who know? But eventually, IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME, we'll found out more on why Capcom chose such strange, yet funny, names. K) Revelations Before Fighting Geetz Ok, I think that once you watch this cut-scene, you'll realize that the entire Legends series starts to unfold at this point. Many point are revealed that contribute to the awesome story that is Legends. First, the biggest point of the cut-scene is that Mistress Yuna, an Ancient from the same "world" as Mistress Sera (the short-haired girl in white), has taken over a certain Carbon's body. Mistress Yuna's original body is the long-haired, pigtailed girl in black that Matilda's body holds. However, it won't be revealed until you go to the final area, Elysium, why she chose another body. So to summarize this point, Mistress Yuna and Mistress Sera are both Ancients that belong to a "world" known as the Master System. Mistress Yuna, for some reason, chose to live inside a Carbon's body, who just happens to be Matilda. Matilda is Roll's mom. The second point deals with The Master's genetic code sample. MegaMan somehow has a genetic code sample, or DNA data, of someone named The Master. MegaMan, having reset his system long ago, has memory loss and no recollection of who The Master is. Therefore, he's confused on what The Master's genetic code sample is, and is unaware that it is part of his own body. Also, our hero, MegaMan Voulnutt, goes by another name. His other name is MegaMan Trigger, and it was his former name before he reset his systems. MegaMan is indeed, or was, a part of the Master System. Therefore, when Sera, Geetz, Gatz, and Yuna talk about Trigger, they're referring to MegaMan Voulnutt, our hero. The third and point is more derived. In a referral to Banner AKA Joe, Banner is going to live out his new life, because he failed his family. He believes that Matilda is dead because she did not return from Forbidden Island along with the other villagers. Why is that? Mistress Yuna took over Matilda's body. Now you can see more into Banner's character. The fourth and final point refers to the battle itself, along with part of the cut-scene as well. In referral to the Bonnes' role in this battle, you can see that the Bonnes are starting to like MegaMan. They feel that something big is happening, and that's why they start cheering MegaMan on during the battle. They can tell that those Reaverbots, which were Gatz and Geetz in reaver form, were no ordinary robots. Upon seeing MegaMan come on to the deck, they know that something is amiss, but they have no clue as to why. Still, it's Tron's recommendation to help MegaMan, and the best they can do is cheer. L) Revalations After Fighting Geetz Once Geetz dies, MegaMan has flashbacks to his previous life in the Master System. Sera's first words are of great importance. She says "Our existence is to protect and serve The Master. We exist for this purpose only. Remember, The Master says illogical things at times. If he does, just ignore him." This brings up an important point that Yuna mentioned in the first cut-scene. Mother Units cannot think freely for themselves. Even though they seem to have a personally and free thought, they can only "think between the lines," so to say. At the end of this section, I'll bring this up to flesh out the details fully. The second point is that The Master and MegaMan are close friends. MegaMan and The Master both get reprimanded by Sera because they do things that they shouldn't do. What MegaMan did is unknown, however, in this conversation there are things that we DO know. The Master created the Carbons and MegaMan took The Master to Terra. The Master also talks about the Carbons, which are the humans that MegaMan knows (regular people you can talk to, and now, in the future, Roll, Barrel, Teisel, Tron, etc.). The Carbons, which The Master created, are people that are different from True Humans. A True Human is a person like The Master, who is immortal, is part of the Master System, and a sort of "perfect" being. There are no known True Humans that exist in the world that MegaMan now lives in. This brings up another important point, which Yuna tells MegaMan the second time she appears in the cut-scene. The Carbon Reinitializaton Program is meant to be run when The Master and all other True Humans die. Sera and Yuna are the only ones who can execute it, because they are Mother Units. What the Carbon Reinitialization Program does is kill every single Carbon living on Terra. After that, the True Humans will be cloned so that they will repopulate Terra, and the Ancients will be restored. This is why getting The Master's genetic code sample from MegaMan is so important. The Master was the last living True Human, and the Carbon Reinitialization Program would be incomplete if a Mother Unit would run it. That's why Carbons still exist today, because if Sera or Yuna had run the Carbon Reinitialization Program in MegaMan's past life, there would be not be people like Roll or Tron or anyone that MegaMan knows today. The fourth point comes in during the second scene with The Master. The Master, upon seeing the Carbons so full of life, makes a final decision. He has realized that the Master System is in error, and that life should not be like his own. His life, which is perfect, cold, sterile, and free of hardships and pain, is not a true or full life. Therefore, he decides that the Master System should not exist, along with its controls, rules, and Carbon Reinitialization Program. Therefore, he gives MegaMan Trigger his genetic code sample, which boosts his power, and... dies. With his last command to MegaMan Trigger, The Master orders him to destroy the Master System because he feels his own breed is inhuman and is a threat to true humanity. MegaMan then became an Aberrant Unit, and a threat to the Master System. (Yuna mentions this after you wake up Sera in the Forbidden Island. Go back to part E for more info.) The fifth point deals with Yuna, MegaMan, and Data. You should already know that Yuna decided not to execute the Carbon Reinitialization Program for one reason or another. There's more on this later once you reach Elysium, but for now let's just say that she questioned herself. She finally finds out why, at this very point in time. She's always wondered what happened to The Master. She's always wondered why the greatest Purifier Unit (MegaMan) became an Aberrant Unit. Now she knows because she watched MegaMan's final memories of The Master. But how is it that MegaMan is all of a sudden remembering these things? It's simply because, MegaMan was damaged by Geetz's final attack, and Data is restoring MegaMan. Basically, MegaMan is unconscious, but Data showing MegaMan his past memories. You see, Data is not just a monkey that heals you and saves your progress. Data is also a memory bank for MegaMan's most precious memories. MegaMan Trigger, in his past life, downloaded his memories into Data so they couldn't be scanned tampered with, or deleted. The final point made is a bit of foreshadowing. In the last scene where MegaMan is back in the Sulphur-Bottom, Von Bluchers says something interesting. He says that he wanted to know who created the ruins and why. This question goes unanswered for the rest of the game, so I can only speculate whether or not it will be answer in a sequel IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME. Roll also mentions that MegaMan is the most important thing in her life. You can see that she is starting to show signs of love here. It looks like things are going to heat up in the next game IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME. M) Elysium: Talking with Data and Matilda/Yuna Once you reach Elysium, you can talk with Data and Matilda to learn some interesting facts about the game. Yuna is borrowing Matilda's body for a reason. She's borrowing it because of when Banner and Matilda visited Forbidden Island. Yuna used some nanotechnology to heal Matilda because she was badly wounded. But, in turn, she used up too much of her own and she couldn't move. Therefore, she transferred her programs into Matilda's body and basically took over her body. So now the mystery is solved! We've been wondering what happened since the beginning of the game, and now we know. Also, Yuna says that Elysium is a perfect world that was created thousands of years ago. She and Sera are both androids that manage Elysium. MegaMan was "built" to hunt down anything that threatened the Master System. Does that mean he has no relation to MegaMan X? Also, Yuna say that she and Sera are androids with posotronic brains. This might give us a clue at to what MegaMan is. If you talk to Data, he tells you that after the Master died, you fought against the Master System. Yuna first started out fighting you along with the rest of the System, but slowly she saw what you were trying to do, and took a neutral position on the fighting. Then, Sera came to Terra because Yuna wasn't doing her job. MegaMan and Sera fought each other, and the battle ended in a stalemate. Yuna took advantage of both MegaMan and Sera being tired and exhausted, and then put both of you in stasis fields. However, MegaMan was beaten up pretty badly. His original body was almost destroyed when he fought with Sera, so he reset his system so he could heal. Therefore, when he was found by Gramps in the Nino Ruins, his body was in its original configuration, which was the form of a baby. But before he reset his configuration, he transferred all of his essential data files into Data, which means that Data has most of MegaMan's memories of the past. N) Before the Fight with Sera Before you fight Sera in her first form, she says some interesting things. She says, due to her behavioral limits, that she doesn't know why The Master attempted to destroy the Master System. She doesn't know his reasoning, except that he had MegaMan be the one to destroy it. So thinking out side of the Master System's box is not Sera's forte. That's why she attacked MegaMan, so that she could try to understand or rid herself of all doubt to follow the System. Also, one final note here. Sera says that Trigger was so sympathetic to The Master's desires. Does that mean that MegaMan Trigger does not have behavioral limiters? He just as easily broke free of the System's limiters when The Master said so, and in his memories during the Geetz battle, he's being scolded for something. So does it really mean he is (or should I say, isn't)? O) The Ending BIG SPOILERS HERE!!! After you beat Sera, I believe that, since MegaMan beat her, she broke free of her behavioral limiters. She just all-of-a-sudden pops out of the trance and understands. I don't really have any other explanations because I don't think the Library was destroyed because Matilda was able to enter the room that Sera and MegaMan were in. What's worse than her just coming out of it like that, is MegaMan's behavior. He just quickly feels sorry for what he did. Whatever. The next important point is that there was more body switching. Sera is now inside of Yuna's body and Yuna is inside of Matilda's body. Hopefully, when we get the next game IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME, this will be resolved. Also, how come Sera is able to use Yuna's body now?! I thought it was disabled, but I guess that she repaired it somehow. However, Yuna decided to remain in Matilda's body for yet another unknown reason. One last thing from the first cut-scene is that Yuna puts in some foreshadowing for the next game IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME. She says that the Elder System (AKA the ruins) is becoming active again. One important point I somehow missed in other games is that, according to Yuna, "The Elders and their machines and their machines are becoming active again." Every other time I played the game, I missed the part that, "oh, there are Elders now?" Apparently, everyone else on the message boards I went to missed this, too. Anyways, in the next game, we'll be fighting the Elders and the Elder System IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME. In addition, The Master and his people shut down the Elder System. Yuna mentions this after Sera goes into Yuna's body. And that's about all we know about the Elder System. The final cut-scene, after the credits roll, gives us a little insight into the next game. Before, in the Gemeinshaft explanations, I mentioned Tron say something. She said "We'll never make it like this." Does that mean that the Bonnes and the Casketts are going to team up in the next game. Well, we'll never know. That's an unanswered question for the next game IF WE EVER GET THE NEXT GAME. ***************************************************************************** *************7) People who I given my permission to use this FAQ************* ***************************************************************************** 1) www.mlu.cjb.net 2) www.legends-station.com 3) www.gamefaqs.com 4) www.geocities.com/simsteven01 ***************************************************************************** ***********************************7) Credits******************************** ***************************************************************************** 1) To me, of course. ^_^ 2) To SuperDanny, who is the greatest friend.
